Ideas for New Items in D3 Version 1.01

Why would you use something like that? Why would there even be an item like that?

How about..

Succubus' Amulet of Demonic Power of Strength

+1 to all skills
+10 to vitality
+10 to strength
+1 to cheese level

Req level 10

That would be a pretty rad ammy except for the deliberately over-the-top (does that have hyphons?) name.

Why? Because every other ring people post adds skills. Now if Diablo 3 came out with 182743189729 rings with + skills how boring would that be. Just for the humor a random ring would do the job.

-20% monster resistances
+20% damage
When monster enters light radius it loses 50 life a second (based on character level)

Req. Level 35

What do you think?

That seems interesting, but it would need a higher level req to balance it out.

Ring of the Schwartz
+20 telekinesis (0skill)
+20% all resists,
+5% max resists

Hmm..thats alright, but kind of unoriginal. Schwartz means black doesnt it? I think we should start creating items NOT based on things from Diablo 2. Things that are totally different.

Amulet of <Insert Name>

On equipping, character gains level 10 Chaos Armour*
+25% damage taken
+100 to Health (based of character level (+10 per level gained))

Req Level 45 (?)


*Chaos Armour: Adds 15% of damage taken to defense for every hit taken. If no hits are taken for 10 seconds, Chaos Armour wears off and defense returns to normal.

If you're not smart enough to work this out (or just don't understand) let me explain.

Say a Gargantuan Beast attacks you and does 200 damage to you. You take 25% more damage. So this works out to be 250 damage. Now if you take 250 damage, 15% (37.5 damage) of that gets added to your armour (you DON'T take that 37.5 damage). If you had 200 armour, you now have 237.

I think this would be a very useful item late game where you're fighting against brazilians of monsters, but it could also be very risky and could ultimately end up killing you

What do you think of that?

Interesting....Good idea that would be, but yea I think the level requirement should be higher, around the 50s-60s would be nice.

Well if you think about it, most monsters around the time you're level 50 or 60 have thousands of health. Maybe level 45, but it totally depends on the strength of the monsters. What do you think of the other thing?

1) Even if the monsters around that level have hi HP, its because of that the game is a tad more challenging. 50 hp per second is alot if you think about it for a second.

2) If that item is very risky and can end up getting you killed. I wouldn't even offer a Tal rune for it, but on the other hand it's more interesting then the other ammys that have been posted with outragously many attributes added to it.

Let's see if I can make this clear ... and understandable....

Runeword: Chance (for any melee weapon)
100% chance to cast a random effect on striking.

you have a 50-50 shot of killing a monster, or killing yourself. A random effect will either hinder your ability or help it.

This will use the same chart that a MF drop is used, but instead of picking a item, making it normal, magical, unique ect. It will choose what effect will happen in a melee combat phase and to whom.

EXAMPLE

Can be seen as such:
50% chance to help you
50% chance to hinder you

Once that is figured out, it figures out what will happen:
(these are only examples of what could)
1-10 Poison Nova lvl X
10-20 Increase attack damage X%
20-30 Increase Defense X%
30-40 Auto Battle Orders X lvl and X sec
40-50 All damage done is Magical
60-70 +X to all skills
80-90 Immune to physical, magical, elemental, or certain elements for X sec
90-95 Auto cast Golem

(These are 1% chances to cast on you only, thats why its called Chance)
96-97 Loot (item drops depending on your MF% times 2)
97-98 Instant death (one shot one kill on your enemy)
98-99 Facet Attack (casts all die facets on striking)
99-100 Revive character if slain*


Then it figures out what % of damage, or lvl of skill used ect.
Like lvl 3 Bone Armor automatically casted on a Pally for X amount of time, Def increased by 100%, to Back ally Ho Monster, ect.

This could be the best weapon, or the worst ever. It all depends on landing a hit and getting good luck.

MF% will play no roll in better odds, nore will anything else**.

* There is only a 1% chance for the revive skill to activate on you only (not enemies.
If you die and get the revive, you come back where you died with 3 seconds of immunity to everything, just so you can grab your body, cast a prebuff if possible, and fight on. During this 3 seconds, any damage dealt to enemies is double it's normal, as well as your stats. If you die again within 30 seconds of reviving you loose double the experience if in non normal difficulty.

** if using duel Chance Runewords, it still acts as if you have only 1 weapon. Again nothing will increase the odds in your favor.


Runeword: Apocalypse (for any melee weapon)
+350% ED
50% Faster attack Rate
100% chance to cause Open Wounds
4% Life steal
3% Mana steal
5% chance to cast lvl 15 Rabies on striking
1% change to cause death*
* A dark robed figure appears and slices enemy in half then disappears.

Runeword: Final Stand (for any character Armor)
+100% to find Magic Items
+50% to mana regeneration
+25% to life regeneration
Skills cost half mana to use
1% chance to create doppleganger*

* when you are down to 1% of your total life, you are auto teleportal to a random spot (no more then 3 yards away) and where you were is a clone of yourself, using the same skills as you, with the same gear and max stats. Your life is doubled until the clones life has depleted. Think of it as a more powerful version of a Assassins shadow.

About that. That was just my opinion and I was hoping other people would share theirs. Besides that I really like your ideas Pale Horse.

I'm not too sure about that Firewall thing..Would it be any good?

when battle rage ends it will recharge in 15 seconds each level (if u have a 60 second of battle rage there has to go 60 seconds before u can cast it again. if u have a 45 seconds, it will be 45 seconds)

Hey guys...why we only can change the weapon using "w" in diablo 2 but not for armor,helm,belt,ring and the amulet?
if we take alot of stuff with us,walk and run should be slower than normal right?
its waste alot of stamina also if we bring alots of things?
except horadric cube,should be one more special item can carry alots inside it~like a BAG (at least can put more than 3 armor inside)
thats cool !!

1. Armour can't be changed in a split second (sure it's just a game but it still has to be vaguely realistic). Same goes for belts and helms. I don't see why you'd want to swap between rings and ammies though.

2. Having your character slow down when you carry large amounts of gear would suck. It would just be terminally annoying. I just contridicted myself here by saying it should be slightly realistic, but that idea would just be anal (in a bad way).

And..I don't really know what you meant about the cube. Are you Asian?
