I understand that new programs for protecting maps have been released quite some time ago, such as PRO Edit. On the other hand, there has been a very useful program to me called the Shield Protector. The creator of this program is RenatoGi. I'd like to give some heads up to everyone about his protector that has been out for quite some time. It never really picked up, though so for anyone who didn't know about it, I hope this message reaches you and you will think about using it. On behalf of RenatoGi, I've come hereo to try and help him in the spread of his protector. It is hosted at a few places, but my clan's website also hosts it. The URL is http://clankon.cjb.net, but if you would like to go directly to the utilities page, click here: http://geocities.com/kon_site/utilities.html
I hope people like toGi's protector, although it's a little difficult to use. There's a read me in the protector's folder, but I'll say how to use it here, in case anyone doesn't quite understand.
1. Open your map in WinMPQ.
2. Right click the scenario.chk and click extract.
3. Save the extracted .chk file and open it in the protector.
4. Click protect and save the .chk file.
5. Open your map in WinMPQ again and delete the existing .chk file.
6. Click the add button at the top and load your .chk file.
7. Save or whatever and then check your map in StarCraft to see if it was protected properly.
Good luck, everyone!
