Testing Sig/Avi

Lately, I have gotten into the habit of working with my Photoshop more, so I have been testing various ideas.

Anyway, I'm mostly looking for suggestions. I honestly doubt the sig's background matches the pics, but I was at a stump of how to make the background work. I'm thinking I should of thrown in a border, but thats just me.

I know that the sig goes over the file size limit, but I am mearly testing it. I have no intention to use it.

I wanted to give them a more Angelic look, so I did this:

Ctrl+J(Duplicate Layer)

On new layer:

Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur>3.0

Blending Options>Opacity>75%

Ctrl+E(Merge Layers)

If your implying I just started, then your mistaken. I have had PS for a while, but I spent most of the time learning how to use filters correctly, and testing various effects. This is just made to test one of those effects. If I wanted to make a serious sig, I could do better.

The avatar looks pretty good but my eyes started to hurt a little after looking at it for awhile, still nice though. The sig looks good. The text fits the background well and the images are put in nicely.

ava: 9/10
sig: 8/10

Better than I could do.

I know the sig doesn't look all to good, but I was at a stump of how to make a background that matched with the images. A pure black/white background tends to leave it off a little... dull, but I couldn't find a color that matched the characters either. -_-'

Why do you hate my Dauphin Text? Is it too big of a font here?

I tried using it at a different forum, and they said Dauphin font was enourmas on thier browsers.

If it is too big here as well, then I'll get rid of it.

However, if you just hate it, then I am sorry to announce I'll keep it.

From my point of view, it looks no bigger than your sized text.

I know. But spending weeks on end working on one background, you just grow to accept that something doesn't match, regardless how it looks.

Backgrounds should not be the hard to make. Go to good-tutorials.com

I am well aware of that site, but I prefer being original, instead of copying someone else's idea.

Also, Backgrounds can be hard, when you don't have a set of instructions in front of you.

Thats why you are suppose to go further than the tutorial. It is just there to set you up.

I like your current sig much better. A good tip for the sig you have posted, though, is to copy the BG layer and put it above the figures, and set it to Color layer mode. ^^;
