Running a steam server on LAN??

I heard there's a way to run local Steam servers on LAN for CS 1.6 w/o having an internet connection? Sometimes my connection goes down and there's no way to play CS when that happens.

Anyone knows if this is possible?

After a little searching on Google, I found a couple links to some Steam-less CS 1.6 download, but I'm not sure it's legit. Other than that, it looks like so far the only way to play on a LAN is to connect to the internet first.

ive heard about this "problem" well i had it we wanted 2 play on LAN but but soon we noticed that u have 2 connect to the inet for loggin in with ya acc!is that right?and when ive logged in and all the others who are there can i just make a server without any progs?and if no where do i get the prog and some bots

Well, my friends and I play CS at school via LAN. We just play 1.5 for convenience's sake and because the computers are barely good enough to run 1.5 let alone run 1.6 and Steam at the same time.
