The dreamcast was years ahead of it's time, and it showed by how it 'flopped'. Which it didn't. Sega just couldn't see from a financial standpoint trying to compete with Playstation (Sony), Xbox (Microsoft), and Nintendo (hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhuge in japan). That, plus lack of third party support / games, and ever changing need for the systems to not only be gaming systems, but whole multimedia systems is why the DC died out.

But to say that it sucks and failed miserably just shows that you really don't know your gaming history. At all. Which pretty much means any opinion you have can be taken with a grain of salt, and is worth about as much as a handful of sand.
yes it still failed so im still right

And if games were still being made for it, it's enough to tell you otherwise, instead of always thinking inside the box.

What i don't get is why the Dreamcast controllers have their wires facing towards you rather than the console itself. That just screams retarded.

Well, if you look at the whole design of the controller, they had the VMU slots at top, and there was 2 of them. Normally thats where the wire would go, but because of the way it was all set up, most of the chip was towards the bottom of the controller, so it stands to reason that the wire would be down there.

Not the best design for a controller, but the chord was pretty long anyway.
