Ok, so I went to Gamestop to pick up Doom 3. I had my mom waiting in the car so I could go grab it real quick and be out fast. I finally find the damn game in the back of the store and I bring it up to the store clerk. He just looks at me and goes how old are you? I say 15 and then he says that I have to have an adult with me to get the game... I just looked at him, gave him the finger and left. I'm not gonna ****ing get my parents to come in and tell the damn store clerk when I already know that they will let me. Seriously, the game rating thing has gone too far...

Is DOOM 3 out? You mean like a full game or just few missions? And about the rating, never happened to me, in Russia no one gives a shit.

lucky you. in germany you have to go to the shopassistent, show him your identification card to make shure you're over 18 and then your are allowed to see the game
we have ratings of 0, 6, 12, 16, 18 years and we have "indexing"
if you want to buy a game with 0, 6, 12, 16 or 18 it's no problem because no one cares about what you buy.
but if you want to buy an indicated game have fun
you are not even allowed to write THE NAME of the game in magazines, you are not allowed to advertise it, you are not allowed to test the game. and if you are not an adult you can't buy the game. but for that we have the donkey

You gave them the finger for doing their job? No offense man but throwing a fit because of the clerks doing their job is pretty pathetic. If you go to a movie theater and go to see a R movie and you can't prove your 17 or older are you going to give them the finger?

Let's say they did decide to give you the game. You go home and your mother sees you playing it. She also sees demonic symbols and monsters creeping everywhere. Your mom might decide to bring the game back and get the clerk who sold it to you in trouble for not obeying the rules.
