If WW3 happened..

I think it depends on the circumstances....I would become a soldier if we were attacked without provocation and innocent civilians were killed (which is what you were saying, right?), but if we did that to another country, I probably wouldn't. It would depend on whether or not I felt like the cause was something worth dying for.

If WW3 was declared, there would be two options for me:

1) Build a fallout shelter with family/few select people, to come out when the war is over/radiation had cooled down (if nukes were used)

2) Get killed while building a shelter.

Given the slightest opprotunity, I would join the army and fight for my country again. I have recently finished my term in the military, and fortunately never had to see any front line action. I would join the military in case of warefare because I am physically able, physically trained, and its the moral thing to do to fight and die for your country. I live in Canada, and I am in a position where I won't see action unless we, NORAD, go to World War 3. But due to the recent amounts of expendages being spent on Nuclear weaponry, I don't think World War 3 is anywhere in the near future. But I say again, given the opprotunity, I would fight for my country. I wouldn't call it my duty, I'd call it a privelage.

There aren't any states that are in conflict with each other, so I don't think there will be a civil war anytime near...

If a just war, as outlined by Augustine, and my side was in the right, I would join. Not out of patriotism, or self defense, but due to belief in justice and hope that a greater peace might follow.

I would not fight unless the enemy was coming on to our soil. I don't believe in fighting overseas; we should concentrate on defense and economic prosperity.

You know what? If there was actully a WW3 the chances of nuclear warfare are high and the chances of you getting to a shelter are slim. If you do get to a shelter and lived the nuclear winter and summer will destroy the shelter because of the changing temperature at high rates.

Seeing as I would die no matter what at the point of WW3 I chose to fight. If we don't fight we die for nothing. To die for nothing is just to die. To die with the pride of at least that is something.

but if you die you dont live to see if you changed anything so the way i see it if you die it will be in vain because only the survivors can see if the fight was worth it, if you died for a cause that you wont get to see.. why die?
