Obviously it depends on the matchup. I'm a P player so...

PVP:

8 pylon
10 gateway

If the position is 6-9/vice versa or 12-13/vice versa then if he adds a second gate...

12 Gateway
13 Zealot
15 pylon

If the zealot chases my probe around, signifiying a slower/non-existant zeal rush...

Gas on sixteen and probes then a double pump of peons.

If it's anything but the earlier stated positions...

12 gas
16 or so cyb
19 Gateway

PVT:

I play this one pretty much by the book...

8 pylon
10 gate
12 gas
14 cyb
goon
robotics on 20

Unless it is either 12-3 (P 12 T 3) in which case I'll block his wallin, pump a zeal and try to get it into his base, cyb on 16, rob before goon.

or if I see double barrack in which case I double gate

PVZ:

If it's 12-3/vice versa or 6-9/vice versa I'll open with...

8 pylon
10 gate
12 gate
13 zealot
15 pylon
double pump of zealots

If it's any other position...

8 pylon
10 gate
12 gas
13 Zealot
15 pylon
18 cyb

and then I can either do stargate rush...

zeal, stargate (in a remote corner of your base), dragoon (helps cover your ramp and kill ovie so it's better than a third lot)

or you can play it conservative and citadel instead of stargate

I've got a bunch more but that's basically how I play it.

Just an observation, you're adding too many barracks way too fast. You should pump from two until you've got two firebats, two medics, and stim. Then you add more. Your pumps more constant that way and you can put pressure on zerg early.

I just use one, can't be bothered to learn them all against all races.

7 Pylon
9 Gateway

And before the Gateway i've already scouted them out, so i go from there.

Well, a major problem of intermediate players is relying too much on build orders, however, you should have a strong opening to use against every race. Of course, by the time you expand so many different things could've happened you can't rely on a build order.

It means supply. Look up in the right top corner of the screen and you will see this supply counter which lets you keep track of it.

ZvT

9 extractor
cancel extractor after drone
12 hatch
11 pool
12 gas

Then I go into lurkerling from there

ZvP

No idea since I suck at ZvP.

ZvZ

hahahahhha there are no build orders in ZvZ.

Of course there are build orders in ZvZ. They sometimes fluctuate depending on how many lings you need to hold your enemies lings so you can safely tech to muta, but basic opening should be memorized and situationally you should know when to start your lair, when/if you should add a spore colony or sunken colony and so on.

Well I mean that I don't use specific build orders in ZvZ. I just try to get a feel for the tempo of the game. Of course I get to a Spire as soon as I can, unless I'm in a Hydralurk mood.

Hydra/Lurk is not an effective ZVZ strategy. Why do all you guys love using it so much? Mutas are the bread and butter of the matchup.

I dunno, sometimes I play some really bad people in pubbie games so I decide to do hydralurk. It really depends on the flow of the game. A handful of lurkers beat zerglings, a large enough group of hydras beat mutas. It's even better when I get a queen, I just ensnare their big clump of mutes and murder it, though that doesn't come up that often. But yeah, it's true, mutaling is easier to do since mutes and lings are a lot more mobile.

Cookie cutter strategies like Mutaling are extremely repetitive and boring. Which is what makes me not so fond of melee SC.

You've got to learn to love the nuances of the game. To me, adding three gates before expanding PVT is like "Wow, crazy!"

Also, don't stick to one race if you're getting bored of it. I don't think I can ever get bored of Zerg, but I play Terran every once in a while for fun.
