Since there are many threads about stories, I'm going to change tactics and talk about poems.Heres mine I wrote a couple of years ago called Beach Remembrance :
Standing silently and serenely
On the edge of the beach,
I faintly hear the whisper
Of the waves, calling out like
A mother's sweet voice to me.
As I gaze towards the pier
I strain to hear
The caw, caw, cawing of sea gulls
All in a craze, imitating children
At play.
The majestic, magnificent
Rolling waves.
The thunderous crashing
Of the enormous, glistening waves
Reminds me that I am
But a mere mortal child.
Standing silently and serenely
On the edge of the beach,
I faintly hear the whisper
Of the waves, calling out like
A mother's sweet voice to me.
As I gaze towards the pier
I strain to hear
The caw, caw, cawing of sea gulls
All in a craze, imitating children
At play.
The majestic, magnificent
Rolling waves.
The thunderous crashing
Of the enormous, glistening waves
Reminds me that I am
But a mere mortal child.
