Wtf is going on?

my friend lend me his account cuz he's on ski week. w/e. the problem is, whenever i move my mouse over his runeword axe(doom) or over his shield(exile-i think). i get unhandled exception - acces violation. wtf is this?
btw: SF told me that this is cuz i have teh german evrsion of the game.
