When Will the Angry Birds craze be done?

I remember around 2 years ago. We used to all sit back and say things like "Angry birds is just a fad". I use to say it myself even. But now it seems like the Angry Birds craze is ever growing. Now it's at the point it's far beyond simple androids and Iphones. Now it's even on home systems like the ps3 and 360. And to add to that, they even have merchandise like shoes, backpacks, lunchboxes, and even bed sheets.

Does anyone think Angry Birds mania will end? And if so, when?

It shouldn't end if people are having fun. Why do the hardcore gamers want to begrudge the casual that is only looking for a nice bit of fun? No, seriously, they have a good product and if it works, which it does, then there is no reason to end it before it's time. Especially when you look at all of the knockoffs that aren't done half as well.

Being someone that has never liked the game(s) since release, I can not wait for the game to end! Well I think it is slowly coming to an end personally. As far as I know Angry Birds Space didn't do nearly as good in sales as the best games. I have to admit though, I cringe every time I am in the store and there are STUFFED animals of angry birds for people to buy!

I have to ask: why does it bother you one way or the other? I can't really fathom why that would be a problem when people have Star Wars Action Figures and buy the limited editions of other games so they can have all of that paraphernalia, why would stuff animals make you cringe?

It would have been much more tolerable if Plants vs Zombies had risin as high as Angry Birds. At least that was a great game. Although I'm not sure if I could handle one more person singing the theme song in a high-pitch flower voice.

That game is still far better than a Angry Birds, which is a copy & paste of a flash game genre that had been around for 12 years, with less features.

Anger Birds is an awesome game!


...for the first 5 minutes. No matter what they do: change the skins, load new themes, add plot lines. I just cannot get over the fact that it's really a boring game =/

I suspect marketing had a fair share to do with their success.

I don't think marketing had that much to do with it since for the most part, it was a word of mouth thing. Perhaps, you don't find it be fun, but I think you have to realize that many people disagree with you. It's not something that I play often as I go through spurts, but it is a nice, little challenge to break up the monotony of the day.

Personally, Angry Birds it is a game that I like. I enjoy spending time with him. I think there's a mania, as you say, but still not going to end. With its inclusion in FB had a small explosion of popularity that has extended its useful life for a couple of months. The emergence of side projects by Rovio will help to spread a little more that attraction for the game.

Some people only says: "Angry Birds is really just a silly game. How could it become so popular and why does so many people get addicted to playing the game?" Angry Birds is a truly addictive game, there is no doubt about it. I think it is a phenomenon, and there is the key to its success: do not understand.

Exactly, Bloomatic. I guess I'll never understand the resentment toward the game or its players. I just don't get how people have actual anger towards Angry Birds, COD or Madden. I didn't say that they didn't have any advertising, they are a business, why wouldn't they advertise? But, to say it is all due to slick marketing is foolish. A lot more of it was due to word of mouth, just as most of the Facebook games are. One person likes it and talks about it and then you have a slew of people playing and others interested in what they are playing.

I remember when angry birds wasn't popular yet after they released a cool marketing video where live birds are used on a large slingshot destroying bricks of castle with audience involved. I'm pretty sure its all about marketing that's why it got so popular.

I don't watch tv and I just got the iPhone and I kept hearing about this game. I finally got to play it on my friends iPod touch. It was pretty fun, it's one of those games that it's simple and perfect for short amount of times on the cell phone.

About a week ago my Internet went out all day, had zombies vs plant pre installed on my gf HP, had nothing to do so I have it a shot, Ended up playing 4 hours straight until for some reason the demo version had run out, or some coins, something like that.

I guess I just find the need to dismiss Angry Birds very entertaining. It's as if people can't actually find the game fun, it has to be some kind of subversive marketing scheme that convince all of the people to play. I decided that I was interested in playing by looking over someone's shoulder on the train. He kept starting over, so I didn't get to see a whole level played out, but when I played for myself, I realized why he would start over so frequently.

All things must come to an end and I think the end is FINALLY near. It really was a fun game to play when it came out but I feel it has just become stale. That's the difference between great games and LEGENDARY games. Legendary games can evolve with the time but I don't think angry birds has done enough to really keep anybodies attention. Minecraft on the other hand...

I'm not really bothered by the Angry Birds craze. Like most things that are too trendy, I ignore it. I ignore Twilight too. Since there's so much Twilight and Angry Birds stuff at Walmart, that's basically 2 whole sections of the store that I completely disregard.

I don't like being told by advertisers that I have to buy something because it's super popular.

I didn't know there was an Angry Birds trend. I know it is popular, I tried a free demo cause I was bored. But like all tablet games it can only hold my attention for a few minutes. I wouldn't be bothered by any trends set by tablet games.
