COLUMBUS, Ohio - Douglas Dials, a deadbeat dad who owes more than
$44,000 in back child support pay, is asking for a cut of a $1.3 million
wrongful death settlement award in connection with his son's murder. An
escaped prisoner killed 18-year-old Charles Dials last year (so much for
the reforming effect of our prisons, huh?). To avoid a lawsuit by the
boy's mother, Franklin County settled to pay her $1.3 million. Douglas
Dials, who abandoned his family more than ten years ago, is serving a
jail sentence for trafficking stolen property and drunken driving. He is
preparing for his court appearance where he'll state his reasons for
sharing in the settlement. The escaped prisoner, Alva Campbell, was
returned to prison and sentenced in to death plus 115 years in prison
for Charles Dials' death. >>>I'm always amazed at deadbeat parents who
suddenly grow a deep affection for their children when there's a death
and MONEY is involved. And as for the escaped prisoner, y'all up there
in Columbus, watch yourselves okay? Perhaps it's time to hire more
prison guards.

BERKELEY- David Thomas Cash Jr., who was a witness of the death of a
young girl who was raped and murdered in a Nevada casino restroom last
year, is the subject of a huge protest to have him expelled from the
University of California, Berkeley. Hundreds of protestors said
20-year-old sophomore should be expelled for witnessing part of the
attack on 7-year-old Sherrice Iverson and failing to stop it, then
refusing to turn in the main suspect, his friend Jeremy Strohmeyer. He
says he doesn't feel remorse for the young victim because he didn't know
her. Cash, who did nothing to notify the police about the rape and
murder is instead happy because the attention of this case has helped
him meet girls. >>> And I'm sure the chicks dig him. Can someone explain
to me why women go ga-ga over guys who are criminals or accessories to
