As the question above states, this puzzles me even now. We (humanity) knows so much but also so little. We do not even know how we came about. But there has been ideas made of how we might had been created. Stanley Miller and Harold Urey found that under the conditions in the primitive earth and the abundence of radiation energy, lightning energy and many other sources and those energy combining with carbondioxide, carbonmonoxide, water vapors CH4 NH3 created amino acids and nucleotides. These in turn can make protiens which creates living organisms as we know it. Now that scientist found these things, are these strong enough to hold on to their statements or what do u guys think about this? After i found this out i was soo amazed and dazzled of how little I knew but do you guys think there were other ways life could had been made?

I know how humanity was created!! God! :D
(its what i believe..and no need to argue with science or anything...its wat i believe...and from reading a whole stack of other creationism threads...i still stand strong with what the bible says in Gensis!)

yea but another scientist also created all 20 something amino acids in our body from those radiations and those exact specifications as the earth would had been.

Miller and Urey made everything BUT the amino acids, so after only a few years they had almost enough to make a life form. The experiment has been replicated many times over the years, and I think they were able to make amino acids under different conditions, but I know they didn't make all of them. I'm not sure of how many acids there are, I remember it as something with a square greater than 64, but I think it's less than 20.

this is a stupid subject due to the lack of evidence to back any theroy up.

Yes, we should dismiss anything other than what's fed to us, and give up looking for evidence, because that would be stupid.
A major piece of evidence is already being discussed, if you aren't even bright enough to catch on to that, then go away. Your lack of knowlege should not be mistaken for total lack of evidence for something.

Order cannot come from disorder,a scientific law,I believe stated by Newton. You may have heard of him,he is the father of physics. Also,if evolution is a true scientific fact, why is it unreplicateable?I had thought that that was the ultimate test of a theories soundness. Now,if you want to believe in evolution,i respect that, but i strongly disagree.

shutupandgoaway i think thats pretty true... anyways i think we were created...as was the world etc by God... perhaps not in seven days as we understand them to be. i am undecided. and to me it doesn't really matter. um i think we have evolved.. not from monkeys but we have .. it is obvious in different races of ppl, different animals etc. i don't know how much animals could have evolved.. eg from a bird into an.. elephant or whatever. i think that is all possible. i don't think humans have evolved alot. except technologically obviously. i think the difference is we were created with a soul and this is what seperates us from animals. yeh thats my theory on life

So far this guys the only one with a real answer. :p

As to how we were created, I dunno. I do believe in evolution, but I also believe in the supernatural. So I remain undecided.

^^, I agree with Roach entirely.

While I have read the Book of Morman, The Bible, and many Jewish texts, I completely disagree with half of the things they see because they, sadly, all contradict themselves.

While I am still undecided as to one..."god". There is no doubt that something other then "science" and "evolution" created the earth.

Down to the very first thing that has ever lived, something had to create that. Therefore we should know that something unnatural has to exist, existing, obviously, forever.

While these "unnatural" things may have existed forever, we also have no way of saying that they have such.."godly" powers.

Just because we're more advanced then a ****roach, doesn't mean we're god.

WOW, what a question!!

What created life.........

I don't think we'll ever, in our human body, discover the answer!
Scientifically speaking, primordial ooze that we evolved from is a possibility. There is a theory stating that at the right time the right magnitudes of electrical sparks hit the right amount of free atoms which created just the right amount of elemental molecules which was just the right amount to start a single celled organism!! But wow, what are the odds of that!!
I think a supreme being is a much more logical answer!
Although, evolution could still exist with a godly figure around, I think perhaps some races actually evolved, perhaps more than others.......

well........... read some more, we all need to read to deduct a logical conclusion!!!

Until next time..........

I'am going to say that humans were not created by god, or evolution, or the theory you stated above. The creation of humans is WAY too complicated for us to have been created by "accident". Wen I started studying science, i realized that the human body and other life is VERY COMPLEX. For example, let's take our immune system. Our immune system protects the body from harmful bacteria and other foriegn substances. The immune system could not have just been created by acccident, and there are many other things that just cannot have been created by "Accident". I started to belive in god but then there are plenty of flaws in that belief. I think the question of how life on Earth began will probably never be solved. But i can tell you it is "definitely" not by an accidental combination of some gases. The human body is much too complex too have been created by an accidental combination of gases.

Well vanilla its not like a couple of gases combined and poof out came adam and eve. What other people were saying was that the gases may have created a lower life form and very slowly evolved into humans

As for my beliefs, i believe in the theory of evolution and the "super natural" but i do not think that any of the religions that the world practices is correct. Thats why i follow no religion, try to lead a good life and hope that when i die i will be reincarnated or something like that. But for all i know we could have been created by smart aliens who left us on earth and monitor us... The point is we don't know and probably never will.

yes, i too believe that we will probably never find out how life started. But i think gases combine to from simple life forms and form into complex ones is also kinda ridiculous. I mean humans were created perfectly for survival on this planet. I don;t see how a simple organism like that could evolve into a species like the humans. I know this is beyond scope of "what created life?"

But then, who created those gases that created the simple life forms? How did the universe come to be?
