You people fascinate me. You say that no one will vote for Bush come reelection time (at least no one you know, from the George Bush thread below), but I only know 2 people that would even consider voting against him. Where are you all from?? Maybe its a locality thing. Has to be. Or an age group thing.

All I know is that I really don't want the US to go down the same road that France and Canada have gone down, and that's really become what the Democrats stand for, any more. And besides, I like Bush. That last sentence is my own personal opinion, and therefore undebateable. What is debateable, however, is that the Democrats want to go the way of France and Canada (government run healthcare, major taxes for all, etc.)

If you think this is wrong, tell me why, and if you think its a good idea to become more like other nations, I'd be even more curious, seeing as how we have the most powerful economy and military in the world, and many millions of people across the world want to live here. Why in the world would we vote for a candidate who's stated mission is to take all this prosperity and flush it down the toilet?

I wouldn't mind having Bush back in, cept I dispise his social agenda. Abstenence only sex "ed", favoring the Constitutinal Addmendment banning gay marriage, and the whole Patriot Acts thing.

Though I'm still pretty ignorant about the dems platforms, if I had to vote today, I'ld go with Liberman.

its good for the government to run healthcare etc....
this way people who dont earn as much as others but are even more fundemental to the countries progress, dont get shit health care.take a look at the NHS in the UK.everyone gets the same health care for free(it maybe debatable that they all get crap health care but besides that...).you are given the option to move to a better hospital but you pay through the nose for it....which i think is right.
also it means that these fundemental services wont get monopolised by big corparations.the problem with this is that these corparations can fall through,collapse....etc with foul play, stock changes etc...take a look at microsoft.if they ran health care or transport they would run half the world.and if such a thing should hapen like a stock crash then the world would come to a stop!whereas governments go on!
also do you trust anyone who will go to war over imaginative weapons of mass destruction, claiming that they are indestructable yet he chokes on a pretzel!!

I believe the "agenda" is promoting Abstainance as the only 100% safe bet against pregnancy and STDs. It still teaches safe sex.

favoring the Constitutinal Addmendment banning gay marriage
Go Bush! However, I listened to his State of the Union, and I know exactly what he said concerning this. He's saying that Judges should not be able to give whatever judgements they want when, federally, the institution of marriage is protected. What that means is the the voters have said time and time agian that "gay" marriage should not be allowed. I say again, GO BUSH!!

the whole Patriot Acts thing
Is this concerning the worker thing? If so, it's a complicated issue. However, it does not say aliens can't work.

its good for the government to run healthcare
I suppose that's why Canada and the UK's healthcare system is compared to third world countries? Gee... I wonder why your statement is so wrong. I know! Big Brother doesn't work!

this way people who dont earn as much as others but are even more fundemental to the countries progress, dont get shit health care
Wrong.

take a look at the NHS in the UK.everyone gets the same health care for free(it maybe debatable that they all get crap health care but besides that
Waiting Lists = Satan's Toy
BIG BROTHER DOESN'T WORK!!

you are given the option to move to a better hospital but you pay through the nose for it....which i think is right
Uh... Even worse idea.

also it means that these fundemental services wont get monopolised by big corparations.the problem with this is that these corparations can fall through,collapse....etc with foul play, stock changes etc...take a look at microsoft.if they ran health care or transport they would run half the world.and if such a thing should hapen like a stock crash then the world would come to a stop
That's why there are "anti-monopolization" laws, and Microsoft can't get into healthcare (unless it's software for them...).

whereas governments go on!
USSR fell. Rome fell. Monarchs fell. Africa's governments are in turmoil, if existant at all. South America is, essentially, the same way. Japan fell. China has fallen so many times I dare not count. Vietnam fell. Uh? Need I go on?

I watched Bush's State of the Union last night (01/20/2004), and I thought it was quite good. There were a few points I didn't agree with, but, hey, I can't like everything he says ;) That's what I love about live transmissions -- the media doens't have time to twist and lie their opinions into it. If you want to know what I disagreed with, ask me later ;)

The Honorable George W. Bush is a very good and very strong president, he has done his job extremely well. Especially considering the circumstances his term has gone through with the 9/11 attacks and the entire Iraq ordeal. Under his guidance, the economy is back up and running extremely well and many touchy subjects are under review.

The only "problem" I have with him is that...well...he loves to spend money, proposing one thing after another and giving millions here and billions there. Yet, at least the money is for good causes, things that will actually be helpful. He and his staff are doing an excellent job and we would do well to re-elect him.

I live in Texas, and I intend on voting green if they choose to run, or not at all if they do.
I am pretty much against every decison George Bush has made since and before becoming president. (Or should I say his father, and his fathers friends....)

Wow i thought that list was going to end with something like George Bush not being president - priceless. George Bush isn't the brightest guy in the world but a lot of people here seem to like him, though I can't see why. It doesn't really natter to me though in Canada unless he invades.

Well, thats not entirely true if you take in the attacks on our ship in Yemen, and the embasy and barrack bombings, and the attack of the WTC in '93. Bush may not be th best pres, but at least he's commited to eradicating terrorism, and terrorist groups, something Clinton never did.

Terror on Americans and anti-american feeling has raised greatly since the invasion of Iraq. There were, as forged pointed out, no attacks on American soil since 1941 before 9/11.The only terror attacks on Americans are on other soil, and those have risen drastically with the invasion of Iraq. If you look at the list, you will see this quite clearly. Also, there has been much anti-american rioting with the invasion if Iraq in the middle-east.

Typical Bush support, the only thing close to a good idea the man has ever had, and all his suporters dislike the idea.

But what can you expect from ignorant rednecks...
