Out of control 10 year olds@!11

I'm sure you've all seen the talk shows. Maury, or Jenny Jones, with all these wild and destructive kids. They smoke, they steal, they assault people...just about everything they can do to cause total chaos and get into trouble. The parents seem to think that possibly a talk show could get them the help they need, because their kids just aren't responding and listening to them.

Well, whenever I see these shows, I'm usually in total disbelief. The parents are so stupid! They say their kids do drugs, and alchohol...and skip school...and all this other crap, well, I ask why??!?! These are 8, 9, and 10 year olds we are talking about here. Preteens. How can the parents not control them? I understand that it could definitely be a hard job, but in my eyes these parent's are simply un fit. They don't give any sort of structure, so they don't have control. I simply don't believe the kids are to blame in most cases. Of course they cause the trouble, but the parent's CAN control them. I believe it all relates to how they teach.

So...there's my opinion, now I ask you. Are the parents to blame? Or are the kids simply bad?

You can't place all the blame on the parents, but if a little kid is running around smoking drinking and doing all kinds of assorted stuff,then the parent's ability to take care of the child really comes into question. Now, it is mostly the child's fault for doing the crimes, but the parents should definetly be more responsible. I can control a little kid like that, so why can't an adult?

Sometimes parents have no time, they can't be everywhere at the same time.

It's about teaching your kids respect. Respect for you and for themselves. Teaching them to think is vital, the reasons they shouldn't do things are good reasons, they should be smart enough to figure them out. When all else fails fear and brute force should be applied. Not all tools are pretty, being effective is more important.

What these kids need is someone to sit next to the and everytime the do something inapropriate just beat their little ass.

I think its both. I think one of the major issues in america are all the pregnant teenagers that give birth and keep their child, and also the overwhelming amount of parents who give birth in their later years of life which can higher risks of birth defects. This brings out many of the problems even before they are born. These kids are usualy the ones who tend to get into trouble. These young troubled teen can barelly keep themselves in line let alone their kids. Also a large population of the people who actually get caught for doing shit like that tend to have some kind of mental issue or in some way not up to it as normal people would be.

But still in the end i think it is still evident that people do have control overthemselves and what they do. Some times desisions can be hard but you still have the option. I think these crazy kids arnt the cause of just one problem its a cause of our faulty society.

I believe "Roach" is correct on this matter. 99% of the time it's because of irresponsible parents seeking some stupid remedy imediately shows their stupidity furthermore. The kids can be controled. The 1% goes for those kids that are born retarded.

Exactly. The parents say instead of their kids going to school...they go elsewhere and cause trouble, get arested...and all this other crap. Their parents should make sure they get to school. Follow them...or drive them. Also, definitely ground them. If it takes a beating so be it .

you HAVE to start raising your kids as soon as they can understand what your saying. you cant wait till their 10 and expect them to be disciplined. you gotta let them know whose in charge, whats right and whats wrong, and how far they can push you from the age of 1 or 2. if you let them go for 10 years and teach them nothing they will believe what they see on tv, what kids at school say ect. this it what leads to bad kids. its all the parents fault for being stupid.

Have you ever figured constant beatings of kids might have something to do with it? Children who are beaten tend to be more libal to cause trouble to "rebel" against parents. If your child is acting like the devil, taking swings at his face isnt going to do it, whipping him with a belt wont do it, infact its the opposite, it makes it worse. The best way would be to calmly talk to the child so that the parent cant understand just whats going on. If that doesnt wotk then seeing a psyciatrist might help. Either way beating the kid half to death wont help. . .

Responsibility with parents is another, Ill agree that its partly the kids fault if hes acting like the devil, but if the parents took control early in life would the kids be making everyones life a living hell? If 16 year old women didnt go **** every hot guy out there and get pregnant and ditch there kids dont you think the kids might be a little better behaved? True its partley the kids fault, but if he was never taught better because of irresponsible parents how can you blame it on him? Therefore almost all of the fault belongs to the irresponcability and carelessness of parents.

tou have to teach them right from wrong at a very young age. if yelling works do that, if it doesnt you might have to spank them or something. but you have to teach them right from wrong and respect. respect is the most important thing. now im 15, im not physically afraid of my parents anymore but i do what they ask out of respect and love, not fear. after you punish th kid and send them to their room wait a half hour, let them think about it then go in say you still love them and make sure they know what they did wrong. simple.

I don't agree with belt smackings...or "beatings"...but they need to know who's boss. Talking to them could definitely help...also listening to them, but sitting their going "don't do that"...when they're allready out of control isn't going to help. The parents need to take action and make sure that their children are doing what they need to do...and that will take allot more than sitting on the couch bitching at them.
