Lil problem under windows 98 se please help!

Hi, I use Windows 98 SE and i have a big problem and here it is
(btw, sorry for my english if it's really bad, i'll do my best to write good sentenses)

Each time i want to unistall a program, i go on my desktop, configuration pannel
and when i open configuration panel i have an error message where it says:

this program will be stopped because and shits like this
(sorry my windows is in french so i have difficulty to translate)

if you still have this kind of problem, reboot your computer


ok: i rebooted 555555555555999999,8 times
and still nothing i wanna unistall some programs but i cant go in my control panel

if you can help me, i will be really happy

Normally on an OS error like that, it is safe to say that it is time for a fresh install. So unless someone else can think of a more difficult way to help, thats my suggestion.

Not necessarily a fresh install. You should try reinstalling Windows 98 to replace any missing or damaged important files.

im guessing you have a virus. reinstall windows over the top, and see if that fixes it, or go ahead and format your hard drive and do a fresh install.

I have another problem but its smaller..

I want to play NHL 2004 and when i click on Play Game
it says: an error has been detected with your graphic ..

i go in the Option and in resolution and theres no resolution so i click on the down arrow and theres no choice for any resolution

i had a little virus and it forced me to reinstall kazaa, anti virus and all my games and now i can't play nhl 2004 anymore


any suggestion?

btw: thank for the help in the first case i will reinstall window when i will come back from my hockey tournament soon we will be eliminated i guess :fwink

dude, just go into My Computer>Local Disk (C:\) and find the folders under C:\program files and delete them! problem solved i think....
