If you play first-person shooters, you might've heard of people talking on RogerWilco or the programs AxL mentioned above. They're independant from the game itself, and let the players chat with their mics rather than typing.

Much more effective for planning out strategies.

Yea I do play first person shooters (call of duty, "{EVE}Eileverat" in enemy territory, "[pH8]-Eil" in CS (though we only play at local tournies), and I used to play quake2 q3, and sof2), but I've never bothered with the chat thing...think i should try that sometime...
