I'd like to build a website FOR FREE. where is a good place to build my site?

Depends what you want on it. There are lots of free hosts around. Geocities is probably the best, cause they don't have pop up windows. But they don't offer much bandwidth for free anymore. If you got the money, you should buy a domain name for $8.88 at www.namecheap.com ... then get some hosting for like, $3 a month. If you can't afford that or don't wanna pay, here are some good places:

... there are tons of others too. Like I said, I recommend geocities for a free host, since they don't have pop-ups. In the future, BattleNetwork.com will be offering free hosting to people with a domain name... so stay tuned for that. I don't know when that's going to be coming though, so don't hold your breath.

Oh, also. If you're new to web designing, a couple of sites that you can use are:

Expage is good, but it's only a 1-page site... still, it's very easy to use, so if your site for some reason only needs 1 page, check that out.

Well, the *free* hosting business isn't exactly booming. You get what you pay for, so, if you can't pay anything, you won't find much better than the sites listed above. What exactly are you looking for that the sites above don't offer?

they'd all be fine except one thing, netscape compatibility, its a long boring story of how i lose internet explorere, so i use netscape.

All those hosts are netscape compatible... did you have problems with netscape or something? I feel sorry for you using netscape. these forums look messed up on netscape (the top header part). Well, atleast they do on 4.7. I am not gonna fix it though, cause only 3% of the people who visit this site use netscape... and they should upgrade to IE Anyways, what problems did you have with netscape and the hosts above? I can almost guarentee you that it's not them specifically, especially since one of them is owned by AOL I think... it's probably the html code that you're using... what errors do you get?
