As I was shopping yesterday at Best Buy with my sister, I came apon Computer mod kits. I was looking at them, and they looked like a fun project to do.

Modware.com is their website. Since my brother works at Best Buy, he can get 50% off this $69.99 kit. I have not bought the kit yet, but I plan to do so when my brother gets back from his snowboarding trip in Canda.

The steps look easy, and they give you the tools to do it.

First you need to cut out a hole in the side of your computer. (Not the motherboard side.)

So I will cut a hole in the side of my computer:

Then you would put in the glass window and lining that they supply to you: http://www.modware.com/kitblue.htm (First iamge, on the left)

Next, you will change your IDE wires, and floppy wire.

You also will install the bottom neon light.

Next is the fan. (Not the heat sync one over your processor.)

They also will give you a nice design to put over the fan.

I'll add pictures to this thread, when I buy the kit tomorrow.

That's really neat. I've been thinking about doing some thing like this for some time now. I've just been lazy and waiting for them to make a kit!!! Now, maybe I can do some thing nifty. Thanks for this post Brother Zaku.

Exactly what I was thinking...

The more I've thought about it, the more computers and cars seem alike. I mean, you'll never be able to drive a computer, but in a lot of ways they're alike.

Replacing those fat IDE cables will make some more air flow into your computer. Also the big fan brings more air flow.

So.. yes.

well, when i built my computer i had case mods in mind, so i bought a clear acrylic case, 5 red led fans, and 2 red cold cathod lights. i looks really sweet in the dark, but its hella loud becuase the acrilic is so ficken thick and the holes have to be the sizes of the fans -,- oh well i get used to it.

Looks like all you need now is one of those giant ubsurd wing spoilers and a fart can muffler. a hood scoop would really cool down your engine.

Just kidding.

That looks pretty cool, even cooler on a computer with a black case with silver/chrome colored bottons. :)

when they assembled my computer for me (parts bought there and assembled, plus windows xp was installed there, talk about less work!), they threw in that light shizit for free. the lighting (hooked in at the bottom) is mainly blue, and the fanlight is green.
