Problems w/ Starcraft Internet

i uninstalled starcraft so i could program something. Now when i try to get back into starcraft battle.net, it says that it is unable to locate battle.net. i already restarted the computer about 2-3 times. also when i open the internet part of starcraft, it doesnt allow me to choose a specific area of the globe(U.S. East, U.S. West, etc...)
could someone help me and tell me what is wrong with this?

Give it 12 to 24 hours and try again, your local server might not be connecting to Bnet, at this time.

The choice of servers will come back when you connect and get the 1.09 patch.

ok i tryed again, 2 days later. now when i get on, it allows me to upgrade my starcraft version. then it tells me i need to upgrade my patch, but when i click ok, it says that something is wrong with the starcraft and that it cant upgrade it. whats wrong?

just try to go on blizzard.com and download the patch manually

Worse case scenario..... email Blizzard and tell them the exact error message, they may be able to help.
