Diablo weapon

I'm stuck in the first quest of Diablo. I keep getting beat down by huge skeletons with staffs and some creatures in yellow outfits. I can't seem to get past them all to get to what's-his-name's tomb. I don't have a strategy guide for this game either. Although the stategy guide for D2 hasn't done me much good yet. Although I did just start that game as well.

What weapon do I need to finish the first quest of Diablo?

i dont remember skeletons with staffs in d1. at least, not in the beginning. at best, skeletons with swords, bows and maces but not full on staves...you're not talking about tristram are you?

Just get a good wepon and gear hire a mercenary in act2 he is the best out of all of them so keep him with you at all times, this should help you get throu it.
