Erm... it's really easy to fix the disc read error, you've just got to fix it every once in a while when it occurs most often.

All you gotta do is open up your PS2 and move that little white gear a couple notches...

BTW I'll try the sit-on-it method... hope I don't break it, I'm pretty light.

it could quite possibly be the design of the PS2. i remember about a year and a half ago my ps2 got so jacked up it made like seizure noises when i turned it on. i put on a really big heavy boot just for fun (thought it was broken for good) and kicked it really hard. it flumped over and hit the wall. when i picked it back up and plugged it in it worked. no i am not lying.
