In order to get Counter-Strike Source you must purchase Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike Source comes with it.

Or just buy the Half-Life game of the year edition, it only comes with half-life 1 but the cd-key unlocks most of the back cataloge games so you can just download it via steam. I'm pretty sure they still sell a 1.6 retail also.

you need to go to Steam and downoad the installer, once that is done, you will need to register with an account, an account is registered with your information and a CD key, so you will need a valid CD key for that reason. then, after you registered an account on steam, you simply double click on the counter-strike icon and it will update your game, this process takes a long time, so be patient

Alright, if you want everything I suggest you get a steam account(free), and then with a credit card, or debit I think, buy Half-Life 2 Silver Package.

The silver package should get you every game on steam.(Download) You won't get the CD-Keys though(doesn't matter since when your register the key to your steam account you can't register it again) or the packaging.(CD's, Manual, Jewl Cases, Ect...)

Silver Package:
Half-Life
Half-Life: Deathmatch
Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2: Deathmatch
Half-Life: Source
Day of Defeat
Day of Defeat: Source
Counter-Strike
Counter-Strike: Source
Condition Zero
Condition Zero: Deleted Scenes
Codename Gordan(free with steam account | 2D)
Team Fortress Classic
Opposing Force
Riochet

Valve can't sell you BlueShift though.(I didn't like it much anyway) The silver package is around $ 60.00 USD.

How big is your hard drive in the first place? It may be time for a reformat. If you don't want to though I would suggest uninstalling another game or applications that you do not run often.
