The president of sony stated:
We disagree. While Sony has likely learned their lesson that telling the market about the next system too early kills their sales of current systems. This being vital in a race to capture market for adopters. We disagree as technology advances make keeping systems with the same performance specs for more than 5 years, insane. Both the xbox 360 and the PS3 are already far behind in their graphic processing ability compared to gaming computers. As I have stated before, 3D processing cuts frame rates dramatically and with real time processing on lighting effects, etc. the demand on processors continues to increase.
I’m not even sure if that’s being considered, It’s certainly nothing I can talk about. I have absolutely no knowledge of it whatsoever. Not even sure it’s being planned.
