And i give it a resounding meh.

It was good. Not great. Nothing special. Definitely not as good as Casino Royale. This movie was a sequel and based around Bond's lust for revenge against those that killed Vesper in the first film. And i think that's where it starts going wrong. Revenge seems like fun up until you actually do the deed and you're left feeling empty inside and you don't know where to go next, i got the same feeling watching this film.

It was a wild ride with fast-paced action to start the movie off, and not much changed throughout. When the movie began to end, i started wondering what happened to all that time that passed. Nothing. Nothing happened. This movie was so centered around revenge that there was a clear lack of story. No big threat to the world (Dominic Greene was trying to control water in Bolivia), nothing.

The second-lead was a girl that also wanted revenge. So her story was as predictable as a piece of toast. This movie didn't do much for me at all. I walked in expecting a Bond movie and i got bloody Max Payne (Minus the drugs). Next to no story (That of which was poorly paced) and too much action, all based around revenge. If this wasn't a Bond film i might have enjoyed it better. Whoever is making these Daniel Craig Bond films is steering too far from the Bond-path, he bent the rules a little in Casino Royale and it was a very good film, but he pushed the envelope this time around and it just didn't do it for me.

And i hear this is a trilogy too. If that's the case, the third installment really has no story going for it. At the end of Quantum of Solace all the big bad guys have been killed off (All two of them) and all that's left is just clean-up duty. Or so we're told.

Oh, and don't expect to see any gadgets. Or Q for that matter.

Well, that's all because it's supposed to be, tehcnically, Bond's FIRST 007 mission. Or at least that's what Casino Royale was, and this is supposed to be a direct follow to it.

Ya know, before he had all the tact and spy stuff down. The books started off roughly the same way, with him just being super gungho without much gadgets just running around all action packed, and only 4 or 5 books in did it start to turn into more of a spy/espionage story.

I had a feeling this is what the new bond was going to be like.
