Personally, I think the UMD really is useless as you can still play games from the memory card and less bulk is involved. The entire thing feels a bit like the time when N64 failed because they were still using cassettes instead of CDs. But I'm not particularly fond of the slide screen format - I find sliders to break more easily than flippers. Still, I think the weight wins here.
