The Evening Star

Ah Evening Star
So fair you are!
Oh radiant bright
Upon twilight sky
Great brilliance and might!

You, who graces us with light
The silver beam that touches Earth
And touches us inside the soul
To lend us hope and joy and mirth.

And memories of a time gone by
When once we dwelt at peace as one
When we shared moments of hapiness
Our lives now sunder, our moments gone.

Yet not forgotten, the precious light
These moments live inside the heart
For light of memory is twilight's gift
To bear with us while we're apart

May we meet again...

A wishful thought...

Dear readers, please feel free to critique this poem in whatever way you wish (within limits acceptable to the moderators). I would love to hear what you think, what you feel when reading the poem.

My style as a poet is defined by many recurring themes, and this list is non-exhaustive:
- the use of Tolkienian imagery
- the regular meter structure, sometimes employing iambic pentameter
- iambic footing throughout
- a bittersweet theme

Please post your comments here.

Yes, I realised that alot of poetry I've seen so far is either emo, or goth (or both). Well, it's a popular style. I have my own though, and I'm sticking to it.
