New mechanical Protoss unit?

Wow, this unit looks pretty cool. It is a mech-warrior looking machinical unit, but by the colors and designs it is obviously Protoss. There is a High Templar hovering in front of it.. I wonder if it's holding him up some how or the Templar is using it's powers..

In the fore-ground is a Vindicator; behind him is a High Templar.

Little is known about the Vindicator. In the early stages of the game's development, they were called "Purifiers". Unlike Zealots, they wield a large "lightning gun". Considering the nature of a Psi Storm, this is a purely psionic attack that taps the warrior's psi potential. The attack will act similar toe the Fire Bat's.

And BTW that's not a Vindicator. It's mechanical and bigger.

1.) Someone above said there was a probe in the screenshot.

2.) It is not mechanical, it is a Protoss covered head to foot in cybernetics. You can clearly see the psi nerve cords dangling from the back of his head.

Here, you can see hints of pink flesh peeking out from that mess of army. Look around the eyes and at the elbow joint. One can clearly see his scales on the arm. And, in this shot you can see the pink scales of his lower torso.

They really aren't too much larger than a Zealot.

Not necessarily for the better. They're just delaying it because more people want WoW to come out than SC:G. Biggest disappointment for Ghost is the console world.

They may have an internal reproduction system. That, or they may reproduce using their psionics. I have read an interesting article made some time ago by a couple of people with a lot of time on their hands. In summary, they explained that two Protoss entered a psionic, "cocoon" like state, where their genetics mingled. This process would last many hours. The two would reform from the sphere, leaving behind a still forming globule of energy. This being would continue to mature until it could assume a corporeal form, resulting in a Protoss child- things I affectionately refer to as "Tosslings".
