Lttle help with 1 on 1 night elf play (and hero selection)

well to be able to recieve more help u gotta describe how u playing, what u doing...what units u getting.

ne mirrors kinda suck...but as first advice as i say creep early a lab and stock up with scroll of protection and healing.minor things will decide the tides of battle.

Don't get hippo riders anymore, those lose really bad to most NE players. Hippo riders used to be good, but nowadays they are somewhat useless. I suggest getting hunts at first, later get some archers+dotts+MGs+dryads. With that you will have a fairly good balanced team to work with.

well ne are weak mid game. u can go archers if u not facing human..otherwise u die like there is no tomorrow at his aoe.

u have a few options:

1. hipporiders with giants..dismount if enemy has air.
2. bears with dryads--kinda classic
3. faries talons chims
4. bears and talons,faeries
5 bears and archers or giants and archers. i prefer the bear because its a much better melle than the giant.
6. riders with chims and hunts...dismount if enemy has air.

that's how i get. i like number 3 but! is very risky..is not for everyone!.

What do you expect...I suck as NE. I can only make references to things that other NE players have used against me.

i usually go warden as my hero

then i delay my enemy as long as i can on creeping

then i make hunterrs and i creep like a mad man

then upgade tree quickly and still making making hunterss

then i swicth to dyads with lots of dott then i qiuckly upgrade the tree again (when this finish reseach cyclone fast) (if they had air units transform into crows)

then i make 4 dotc with rejuvination upgrade on

then i make a few chims

(also i always buy a invernarable potion just incase he focus fire)

b4 I always got killed by this undead player. coz we
play 1 on 1 map on a small map, like the 2 river.
usually I go warden then hunts, but if ur opp go real
fast, they can rush u with like 5 ghoul + 1 hero (with
a skeleton rod ) before u even got 1 huntress out.

I think NE really have a trouble in starting up. once u
got huntresses out u can pretty much play like normal.

I change my strategy to have 2 AOW, with my first
hero to be the KOTG, and have archers ready when
they come in. archers is actually not as bad as they
seem to be. when they are attacked make sure u
macro them to run in a different direction. believe me
it helps a lot. have moonwell near AOW and place them
on different site, so that u can run near aow and get healed.

and then detonate wisp to burn opp's hero mana. detonate like
2 of them. but don't send ur wisp to their side coz they can just
kill it. instead make ur wisp 'hide' behind an ancient and have ur
team near it. when opp come to attack ur archer, hide and
detonate like 3 wisp (u can group them) so it blows any skeleton
and the hero's mana. uproot AOW, get treant and fight. I survived a lot of super early NE rush (like around1-2 o clock night time attack) this way

other than this, the strategy posted on this thread can be
used depending to ur preferences ;p

You are absoultely right.I know what it is to have your footmen and riflemen killed by mass archers but it's right to say that if vs human the archers will be dead-not because of the footies,they must have equal number or 1.8 : 2 ratio (like 1 footmen,12 archers)to own but also because even a much greater mass of archers can be stopped by BM -flame strike and they are all dead
