Ok, so I was searching through the diablo forums and they came out with this d2 strat team.

What I was thinking was how bout we do something like that? Where we take the top 5-10 most active wc3 posters/and/or best players and make a team in which we constantly post strats and what not.

Still, this is an idea in the making and I'm not a mod so I can't do much. So unless someone like DM does something it won't happen.

It's still probably pretty glitchy but as I said it's just an idea.

I think it would be best players. I am not real active over here but I can deliver some mad strats that work great.

Kinda complicated with wc section... That is what the different strat section are for aren't they?

If somone really wanted to take the time to write it all out they could, then if it's effective and eligable enough I'm sure it would get a sticky in its appropriate section.

It's a good idea, and it's not, becuase strats are all to commen in warcraft. Basically everyone over all uses the same strats, they just minuplate them to thier own playing style.

I would suggest commetaries, or discriptive writing. It's to often you hear siege own hunts, but no one ever explains why. They just simply know that it does, you also never hear what hotkeys, subgroups, etc. people use when combining and useing units.

@Above would you mean an extra forum for their strategies or would there be like a stickie where they post their strategies?

We could have like a big archive of strategies per race.

Ok and we'll make it even better than d2 forums. We wont separate the people in good or bad and whoever wishes to add useful tips or strats I can sticky them or have them in one guide you know. Without calling who is bad, when people are uncertain if something is right or not, they can decide themselves not to give ideas. I mean, it doesnt really matter you can give good ideas or you cant these are the 2 possibilities.

No, something like the D2 forums have. Like a team of wc3 specialists, and we could do things such as commentairies and descriptie writings and what-not. But as I said it's an idea in the making so there are probably lots of more things we can add.

no, the way replays work are u usually just record, while your watching the replays and when someone is viewing the replay you tell them to pause at a certain time, then when you are ready to start commentating you unpause.

im already setup to do commentaries, just no free time....

why would you need it to be an avi... just do the replay in w3g, commentate it in a avi file and zip em up

its not diffucult at all to do, finding good material to commentate on, and having the time to do it, are whats the hard part.

No need to do that, waste of time. And impossible to do, changing a wc replay into an avi, is like trying to change a cd-r disc into a dvd-r.

Well, I have more then free tiem, and am willing to put as much time is needed to this team if it is ever created.

Why limit to just a few people? This whole wc forum IS for strategies isn't it? Look at the HU section, its all about strats, same with UD, Orc is just opinions on stuff, but more orc players will eventually join the forum, and NE- no one posts in there. What i'm trying to say is that 1) we dont need a forum. 2) we dont need to limit it. 3) strats are everywhere, we just need to take other people's ideas and alter it to our liking. <Basically all strats orginate from the same idea>

a replay is nothign more than a set of instructions. that is why u cant even reqind a repaly cause ur no really watching a video, ur jsut watching the compouters follow instructions to duplicate the exact motion u performed in the game. that is whay repaly fiels are so small, they arn't real video files

and now back on topic...I think it is worthless...unless we have a strat "team" for each section, or have 5 members one for each race, and one for overall strat. But my vote goes two nay.

Argg do you guys not get what I'm tryin to say? Just like make a team up of warcraft specialists and let them do commentairies and what not, they don't have to be stuck down to JUST posting strats. But if you guys disagree with the idea then oh well. And chinese I know what your trying to say. But some of the strats that are posted are pretty newblar. So the only people who would have authority to post strats would be the warcraft team, and if you have a good strat that you wanna post just PM it to a member of the team, and if they find it effective they'll post it and give you credit. If they find it useless then it would not be posted.
