How to extract Cd-Key from an installed game

hi:


i have a big problem....

i want to format my computer and re-install windows...
my problem is that i lost my cd-key of LOD (i still have the D2 key)
which means, i won't be able to install LOD after i re-install my windows!

please tell me how to extract my cd-key from the computer.

i want to get this stright so there will be no mistakes:

1.) i backup:
d2char.mpq ; d2data.mpq ; d2exp.mpq; d2music.mpq; d2sfx.mpq; d2speech.mpq; d2xtalk.mpq; patch_d2.mpq.

2.) i install the game with a fake cd-key

3.) i replace the mpq's with the backuped one's.

and thats it?

just cut diablo II LOD folder from C drive and paste on the other drive. that if you are not deleting all files but only C

Just save the whole directory thats the only way to save ur cd key or else

go into the regestries and find it..i found mine..and my friends on his comp go to run then type regedit ..lol its fun..dont break nuttin tho!

I downloaded a working grabber that can also change the cd key. i did this to grab cd key off of PC so i could have LoD on my new laptop. It worked like a charm. I got it off the forum. just type in "key grabber" in the forum search area.
