"Horadric Editor" Only Editor For 1.10!! Need Help!!

Greetings all,

Does anyone here know how to Hex Edit? I have gotten back into playing Diablo 2: LOD due to an awesome TC I downloaded for it called "Ancestor Recall" (TOTALLY revamps Diablo 2. Has NEW, monsters, skins, Stats, Weapons & Armour, new map locations, game is HARD even on the normal setting & it only gets harder (yay!!), these are just a few goodies you get with the MOD) Since I have beaten D2 about 8 times since I first got it 4 years ago, the new TC I have breaths new life into an otherwise great, if ageing game. I have the sweet new 1.10 patch installed. While looking through MOD sites I came across a Character/Game editor thats friggin sweet. From the D2 forums I have visited it's the only one of it's kind that works with the 1.10 patch & everyone is raving about it.

The options it has are the best of any editor I have ever used. It has a very easy to use & very indebth graphical interface. It offeres everything from editing every NPC, to making custom weapons & armour that your character begins the game with, (You can even insert any skin for them you choose!!) You can edit your own stats, to editing the companions that you can hire. It even allows you to edit their name & stats. Remember the wandering barbarians once you actually make it to the "Expansion" part of the game? You can have them as companions in any act. You can even start the game with them & equip them with whatever you want. If you like D2, then this editor is a dream come true.

The bad news is that after your done using the editor & click on the "Create character" button, it saves the game in a binary format & you must use a Hex Editor to make the character playable. Try as I might I can't make heads or tails of how I can convert the binary format to the .d2s for D2. The readme is very limited. You can also take your current character & import the Hex Data into the Editor & edit your character that way. I can do that, but once i'm done editing my character & I click on Save, it gives me Hex data & i'm not sure how to re-insert into into the saved game.

I have downloaded 3 different Hex editors & all of them leave me frustrated & feeling dumb . Any help would be great. If you are able to take this raw binary data & convert it to Hex (or so that D2 will see it & allow you to use this character) Please show me how. Please see below for the Raw Binary data.

The Readme says to then copy & paste this into the Hex Editor & save as your characters name & add ".d2s" to the files end. I did that & still no go. Am I missing a step? I took a saved game that I made ingame & opened it in the Hex Editor & it looks very close to what I have above, but the format is a little different & on the second line to the left it says the characters name in regular Text. Tried converting it to ASCII & it looked close...but...still...no...go.......

This Editor ONLY works for SINGLE PLAYER.

Go here to get ALL the info you could want to get this sweet Editor to work. It's well worth it. Just spent the better part of an hour making a Custom character. Loaded up D2 & it worked!!
