First REAL Photoshop Attempt

Well, this time I actually tried to learn and create something. It took about 12 hours straight (I had to figure a lot of stuff out, this was my first time afterall), but it's finally done. I just set it as my new sig, so check it out.

Well I didn't know any of the tools or how to use them Hell, I didn't even know what a layer was. I just thought "layer.. won't be using that". Yeah right

Well, s'okay for a first try But 12 hours...? OMG.

And also...I say layers are one of the best inventions know to man I'd DIE without my Photoshop layers.

I wasn't aware the quality of something was directly related to its completion time -_- For the first 6 hours or so, that's really all I was doing. For the last 6 hours I was doing other things too. Anyways, with my luck, I probably figured out the hardest way to possibly make that picture using Photoshop I know it's hard for you PS veterans to imagine someone actually not knowing how to use Photoshop, but I really hope no one expected me to open a program that is completely foreign to me in its methods and terminology, and crank out some Van Gogh masterpiece in half an hour. It's called a learning curve

then i learned how to make fire!! woot!

but i still suck at ps

and i need to find the crack for it.. or a key

Az... photoshop isnt too complicated, if u want something to confuse the **** out of you, go d/l after effects...

u can make movies with it, change frame rate.. all that shit...

gl trying to use the brush.. i havent figured that out yet

Photoshop came pretty easy for me (the basics anyway) with my experience with PSP. I would hate to think that took 12 hours like the rest said, but for a first attempt and not knowing your way around and teaching yourself, I'd prolly believe it. It's pretty nice and clean for a first go.

draw the fire and import the character?

It'd be the exact same thing if I made you download X-tra Editor and told you to make a Starcraft map. You don't know anything about SC, the only terms that'd be familiar are 'brush' and 'palette', and after it took you two days to finish, your work would be extremely low quality compared to professional standards. I still wouldn't say "I could do a better job in ten minutes" just because I have years of experience on you.

I never said "HEY ZERGLITE GUESS WHAT!" You shouldn't always assume everything's directed at you.

It's the same concept, creating something in a foreign environment. I was relating me using PS for the first time to someone else using another program for the first time, for the means of creating something in a field you're unfamiliar with to being with.

Not you apparently. It was directed at the people who seem ashamed to even reply to this thread because it took me significantly longer than it would have them, for me to make something of lower quality than what they could have done, on my first time using Photoshop.
