Holy **** holy **** holy **** holy ****. The 64 and SNES games did it for me.

Revolurtion has me already and i dont even know aobut what the actual system is about yet(revolution games and controller?).

This morning, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata cleared everything up on famitsu.com. Iwata said that the retro Nintendo game downloads will not be available for free on the Revolution. Rather, Nintendo might give some away with each Revolution game you buy, do special promotions, and so on. They're still deciding. The download service itself will be free, but the games will not be.

I highly doubt they would cost much, but it definately is a sort of disapointment

Games made by Nintendo are free. Games made by third parties are not. :(

EDIT: I just saw Pan's edit

They are NOT free. Game demos however will be free. Nintendo might also give away free games with each purchase of a Rev game... It's still in the planning stages currently.

This has 'sold' me as well. I still plan on trying to purchase all three next generation consoles though.

Can't wait to play the old SNES games and the N64 ones as well :). There is no way someone could get bored with that console! Maybe I will finaly beat Diddy Kong Racing :/.

It's a bit annoying. You'll either hate it or love it ;).

Last I heard, ya know, about an hour ago...Was that none of the games would be free, and that it was just a rumor.

So you're going to have to pay for all the games. Awesome huh?

Don't you think that is the notion for every and any game you buy?

Iwata's comments contradict recent statements by Nintendo vice president George Harrison, who implied in a recent GameSpot interview that first-party Nintendo titles could be "downloadable for free." However, Perrin Kaplan, Nintendo of America's vice president of marketing & corporate affairs, told GameSpot that no pricing structure has been decided. "For Revolution and accessing older games, we haven't finalized how we will structure it yet," she said. "It is possible that players will enjoy these games without a charge from Nintendo, or there may be some pay structure for accessing the actual product. We haven't finalized it yet. Our goal is to make it as easy and inexpensive as possible, which could be free."
Awesome huh?

I was already sold for a Revolution, since I'm a huge Nintendo fan (not fan-boy), but this just sweetens the icing on the Cake. Hello Super Mario 64, Super Mario RPG, Super Mario World & allll the Zeldas.
