God you're dumb. WoW isn't even out yet. In fact, they havn't gotten ANY money off it yet, and they've spent (Millions) on it.

BTW, Diablo world still beats out Warcraft world in terms of money making.

Of course; look at the sales for each game: Diablo 1 and 2 have far outsold warcraft 1/2 and 3. Obviously those are impressive statistics.
An example: Have you ever bothered to compare the number of users on TFT to that of LoD? At any given point in the dy theres at least 30k people on LoD while on TFT theres usually no more then 15-20k.

Should Blizzard Pursure down the path if Diablo again and release a new game the amount of money it would generate would far out-sell WoW when its released. That is assume of course that they dont mess it up...

WoW is a pay-per-month subscription game. This is where they anticipate making the real money.

Successful MMORPG's make a killing (no pun intended).

Diablo may have sold well, but that was a long time ago. Now it's a budget title and I'm sure not very many copies sell. Then think of those 30k-40k people on battle.net constantly playing diablo. Blizzard has to pay for those servers and to support the game, with very little income coming in. For years.

Now imagine if Blizzard were getting $12.95 a month from each of those players. If 30k-40k are on at any given time, then there must be hundreds of thousands of players who play fairly regularly.

100,000 players times $10 a month would be a cool million dollars a month. This is the kind of thing Blizzard is banking on for WoW, though I am sure the numbers will be even higher. Iam sure the the support and infrastructure costs to support WoW will be higher too, however.

100k+ is almost laughable..imho

in all likely hood, blizz will stop developing WoW 6 months after its released, and it will be like 95% of the other MMORPGS released, anyone remember how insanely good shadowbane was supposed to be?

Sales are doing just fine on d2 for how old of game it is mate... although its mainly for additional cd keys :p

And I presume you have credible sales figures to back this statement up?
