I know that they are overly used in theory craft "if i get backpack on my knight, my pally wont have to run all the way back home..."

I know the game inside and out, but its funny how I often times forget the upgrade exists. I'll be like, "woah, what the hell is that?", and then I'll remember that its the stupid backpack upgrade. Used even less than cannon towers and morter team flare =P

i think its very useful. just never used.

i know plenty of times that i could have used it when my inventory was full but i need an extra scroll of healing or two before i went into battle.

but yeah the upgrade is way overlooked

I get it just to send footmen into the enemys base with items on him. So when he dies, he drops items. Its like Christmas, and im santa.

I love Grunts with Lightning Orbs.

But useless nevertheless. Schoolbags and backpacks get stolen. Except in this game you kill to steal.

I dont know... before I used to think that they are useless, later when i had injured and was at his base all the time i needed a scroll of healing so it worked perfectly. Now again adding priest I dont find them so important.

What I don't get is that most people will have 2 heroes by mid-game. That equals 12 item slots. Chances of all of them being permenant items is very low.

I guess it was because with FT came the shops, so they figured that 12 slots wouldn't be enough. Unfortunately, that only seems to happen on 4v4s and larger, and with those maps you get the chance for 3 or even 4 heroes for 18 or 24 item slots.

i have upgraed it maybe once in my 900 games played. it is the most useless spell. it works in theory, but it is pretty useles in a real game

I did it once, and couldnt find what unit had the backpack.

Never paid for it. Who would want to buy the packs and then spend more gold on items for each unit? just buy more units.

The backpack upgrade should be free right from the start. It shouldn't cost a dime to upgrade or use.
