Halo 4 for Xbox 360, not for a 3rd generation xbox

Halo franchise director and 343 Intustries' boss Frank O' Conner has said Halo 4 won't be coming to Microsoft and reaffirmed that the title is strictly for the Xbox 360.

The studio's decision not to talk about Halo 4's engine at E3 along with the snowballing speculation that Microsoft is on the cusp of announcing its next-generation hardware has led forumites to speculate Halo 4 will be a part of the next Xbox's debut.
O' Conner responded to the speculation on NeoGAF, saying the next chapter in Microsoft's flagship shooter franchise will only see release on Xbox 360.

"Halo 4 will be on Xbox 360 and use a modified core of the Halo engine(s). Not really a singular engine since it goes through fairly radical evolutions all the time," he posted.

I personally would like to hear more development on the 3rd generation xbox and games being lined up for such a system. Consoles are SERIOUSLY holding back development at this point and releasing a game that comes out in a year or so time, means its future potential and longevity will be analyzed on a console roughly 7 years old... Who still has their PC from 7 years ago? not I.
