August 2008
Good news, Aussie friends, Fallout 3 has been unbanned in your country. You may rejoice momentarily. Ok, now stop.
In 2008, three games have been banned: Dark Sector, Shellshock 2: Blood Trials and Fallout 3. The banning of F3 caused much anger in the local gaming community. Bethesda's highly anticipated postapocalyptic action RPG was refused due to "in-game drug use." As a result of that classification, it would've been illegal to sell down under.
Thankfully for the Aussies, the Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC), has reclassified the game as MA 15+, with some cautionary advice. This means that the game will definitely be on sale in Australia. There has been some speculation that the release date is around mid-October 2008.
