Okay, everyones right! And, everyones wrong!
Lings rock. <--- FULL STOP!!
They are not invicible. <---- FULL STOP!!
If you just mass lings you will be snapped by: Reavers, Archons, Zealots (sorta), High templar, dark temlar (if the overlords are taken out), tanks (with close defense), bats+medics, marines + medics, bats/marines in bunkers, irradiate (possibly), BC's, lurkers, guardians, *MORE* lings
AND alot of things i probably forgot - hey, its been like a year since i played SC:BW (now onto WC3).
PS: lings rule!
BS all. Zerlings rule, you suck
Check his Post Scriptum (P.S.)
How to atach a replay:
Zerglings are good, if you use them right.
Aspecially against Protoss.
Incredible.....4 pages about lings.
It shows me that people love to argue about things.
Well, they're telling their opinion.
lings are good but i wouldnt say the best... Sure they could underestamated but if you really have that much lings it will be diffcult to have them all demolish targets cause they will prolly jam up like on a highway or something... but what do i know i am an idiot
also they are completely defenseless against air units (but only a noob would send them alone after the early parts of a game)
Lings against larger numbers of M/M?
U wont be able to kill a single marine!
How in the name of earth are you going to break through a walled in terran? If he has like 8 sieged tanks behind his wall-in, no way a single ling is going to reach them.
Its just...I mean...
I have never been able to reach 8 sieged tanks with mass lings...
Dropping directly on the tanks works, because the tanks kill each other off, but that has very little to do with the unit that you drop.
In early game, lings = very powerful with early speed-upgrade as main attackers
In mid-game, lings often take the role as living walls...
Just keep them in front of your hydras, its really basic and always scores you some. If you're mutaling against hydra-enemy, just flank those lings and you'll win.
If enemy has balanced hydra/lurks very well, the difficiulty is a lot higher. As we all know, it is impossible for any amount of lings to reach like 6-7 lurks. There is no sensible way of doing it.
In late game, it's all about +3/+3 cracklings.
Flanking is essential. It always was.
this is a s-t-r-a-t-e-g-y game, remember.
as far as massing goes, I never considered it a real strategy.
except for hydras.
:wavey :wavey :wavey :wavey
you know zerglings are only good for seige ,mass zealots with leg upgrade own zerglings.
Actually, only a idiot would wall in their entrance with 8 tanks. If you mass lots of zerlings, alot of them will get blown. But some will reach the tanks, and then BOOM!. The tanks blow each other up.
actually scrouges are 75/25
hmm zerglings are good in the early game... but!
HYDRAS OWN MORE!!
-more than twice hp
-can attack air
-does 10 damage instead of 5
-with dark swarm u win
MWAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA and besides, if u keep sending those lings u will lose like half the minerals u need and those lings suck neways...
Yea, they have more than twice HP, but for each hydra 2 lings are born, enough to kill an hydra.
They can atack air, but a swarm of zerglings may be enough to eleminate the enemy even if he has air.
Read the manual, you'll find that there are 3 different types of shots.
Zerginls are fast, they can bypass Hydras long range...
And how can you win with hydras, against zerglings, using dark swarm? I can see you don't know what dark swarm is for.
Separate names with a comma.
