I knew it was a hierarchy system, with regards to Overmind -> Cerebrates -> Lesser Minions. And I knew they were created somewhat the same way Protoss were.
actually its Kerrigan -> Overmind -> Cerebrates -> Lesser Minions
because kerrigan is actually the head of zerg factions therefore controling EVERYTHING MUHAHAHAHA

You do realize that Emporer Pan takes precedence over quite a few things.

Except in Wc3 at least :).

So far as I know there aren't even any cerebrates left...the last of them fused into the new overmind in Brood War.

And even if there was, they would be under the control of Kerrigan.

Kerrigan wasn't above all else until near the end of Brood War when the Overmind was slain and the Psi Disruptor destroyed.

No, because the player takes command of a cerebrate in Episode VI of Broodwar, which means Kerrigan has at least one cerebrate, but is it more likely she has more, considering she controls the entire swarm now.

She may be Kerrigan, but she is still one entity controlling an entire swarm. You need to have minions to take control of sub-minions.

an Infested Terran controlling the entire Zerg? Impossible!

The Overmind, specifically created for controlling the Zerg needed cerebrates to help, and some are suggesting a human is doing what the Overmind couldn't !?

You're forgetting...she ain't human no more. And she had pretty strong psionic ability to begin with...and it's only been made more potent by her metamorphosis.

And she was created to serve a leadership role, far beyond that of your basic cannon-fodder infested terran. Not to mention...let us not forget that two Overminds have been whupped while Kerrigan's still playing a deadly game of chess with all the most badass war forces in the sector.

She was a very basic human with psionic abilities. Only chosen because Humans are still in their infancy in terms of psionic abilities. Her psionic abilities are subpar when compared to any other creature in Starcraft, Nothing which changed when she was infested.

The Humans were tools to be used to attack at the protoss, nothing more. Kerrigan was one of the humans whose pisonic abilities made her stand out amongst a race who was still prematurely developing it. Similarly the Overmind was incredibly powerful, and so often people don't really begin to realize how insane that creature was. There was no way the overmind could have taken a human and made her more powerful than itself.

And secondly the New overmind was destroyed because Kerrigan of specificly. Kerrigan used the fears of her enemies of a greater threat to dismantle the UED and strike at the Overmind. She was the reason the overmind was destroyed. Remember she couldn't control the Cerebrates or the other zerg broods under their control BUT if the overmind had reached maturity, the Overmind would have enslaved her again, thus is the power of the Overmind.

Not so much. She was one of the most elite Ghosts, who themselves represent the pinnacle of human physical and psychological achievement. That was prior to infestation. During infestation, her subliminal consciousness was so disturbed by her metamorphosis that she sent out a psionic call across the entire Koprulu sector, drawing Raynor and his forces to the planet on which her chrysalis was located.

The reason the Overmind chose her is because during the raid on Tarsonis she was a curious human that emanated strong psionic potential, which to it meant both something interesting and a potential weapon against the Protoss...it saw in her mental radiation the potential for the Swarm's greatest creation.

Oh, and as for "subpar compared to any other creature in Starcraft..." After breaking into the Amerigo and recovering the data files on her, she unlocks her ability to actually create psionic storms the likes of which only the High Templar (considered the most psionically powerful of the Protoss upper tier) are able to duplicate. Not to mention, in the Overmind's absence she calmed and dominated the entire Zerg Swarm. Don't take her psionic abilities too lightly.

Humans were food and host material, not tools. KERRIGAN was an experiment the Overmind came up with when it discovered a strangely potent psionic field coming from a human, a race previously thought to be nothing more than organized animals. The Overmind didn't intend to create something more powerful than itself...how she turned out wasn't deliberate, only a result of the genetic reworking that the Zerg DNA performed on her. Zerg mutation isn't intelligently designed, it's hyper-evolution. The Overmind inducted Kerrigan into the Swarm to see what a "perfect human specimen" could yield. Its own superiority complex kept it from seeing what it had done and realizing that it indeed HAD made "a monster."

Kerrigan destroyed the young Overmind because it would have disrupted her control over the Zerg she commanded. Of course she can't control Cerebrates...technically neither could the Overmind. The Overmind was vastly more intelligent than the cerebrates and it gave them orders, but Cerebrates were sentient as well with their own wills and personalities. They merely followed their orders because it was what they were genetically created to do...there was never a question over whether or not they should, they were being directed by the Overmind.

I have my doubts that the Overmind ever truly had enslaved her. She fed some of her "allies" that line to get them to join her cause, but she always spoke with sentience and a true sense of self. I believe she was on the same level as the Cerebrates themselves.

Oh, and let's not forget one psionic achievement she has over the Overmind. Who's the one who completely took over the mind of Raszagal, a very old and powerful Dark Templar matriarch? That would be Kerrigan. The Overmind never managed to actually manipulate the minds of a race that's pure core is psionic ability and power...Kerrigan did.

Don't underestimate her power. She took over the entire Koprulu sector under her own power. When the mad fury of the swarm wouldn't get the job done, she manipulated her enemies to become her allies and got it done that way. The chick is seriously scary, and underestimating her is what got a lot of folks killed...namely Fenix, and Duke.

Nova was just as powerful as Kerrigan. She wasn't spectacularly unique.

Using an in game unit command and saying "she is powerful as a protoss because they use the same spell" isn't a justifiable argument.

The overmind, Tassadar, Zeratul, Duran and the others she has actually encountered are far more powerful than her. Her only redeeming trait is the cunningness of her human side.

Humans were food and host material, not tools. KERRIGAN was an experiment the Overmind came up with when it discovered a strangely potent psionic field coming from a human, a race previously thought to be nothing more than organized animals. Negative. The OVermind was going to pass over the humans, until he realized they were a budding race with psionic potential. That is why he landed on Mar Sara and Chau Sara and the human worlds. Kerrigan was an afterthought picked up later. a bi product of its plan to use humans against the protoss.

You just described how the Overmind controls cerebrates.

I have my doubts that the Overmind ever truly had enslaved her. She fed some of her "allies" that line to get them to join her cause, but she always spoke with sentience and a true sense of self. I believe she was on the same level as the Cerebrates themselves.
To get her "allies" to join her cause:

Cast doubts over the UEDs intent and eventual control of the sector
dangle the prospect of being emperor to Mengsk
"Kidnap" the dark templar's matriarch.

Oh, and let's not forget one psionic achievement she has over the Overmind. Who's the one who completely took over the mind of Raszagal, a very old and powerful Dark Templar matriarch? Okay, I admit the Overmind is never actually shown "taking over the mind" of an old dark templar.

However considering the entire reason the Zerg even landed on (and with the Overminds guidance eradicated 70% of life on Aiur) was to ASSIMILATE the ENTIRE PROTOSS RACE. Combine the Essence and form together. That was the Overminds Goal, and clearly is was within his power.

Lets not forget one very important thing. the Overmind Decimated the Xel'Naga, the race that created both the Protoss and the Zerg and ASSIMILATED THE Xel'Naga. How else do you think he even learned of the protoss? The Overmind was bad ****ing ass.

Don't underestimate her power. She took over the entire Koprulu sector under her own power. When the mad fury of the swarm wouldn't get the job done, she manipulated her enemies to become her allies and got it done that way. A product of her human nature - manipulative. Has nothing to do with the fact there is no way she is more powerful than the overmind. She gets to her ends better than the Overmind did, but that is purely playing on others weakness, rather than just killing them.

If she was more powerful than the Overmind, she wouldnt have had to rob some Dark Templar energy from the Protoss to destroy it and the United Earth Directorate on Char.
