I have an assumption that the next Playstation isn't very far away. The playstation 3 was released in November of 2006 and in 4 years the machine has gone from "a supercomputer" to something far weaker than my laptop (understanding that my laptop is a ridiculous gaming machine). There are a few reasons that I think the Playstation 4 isn't far away. 1. There has been huge advances in processors and graphic cards since the PS3 release 2. if Sony wants to increase the adoption of their 3D TVs they will need to introduce a more powerful machine as rendering a game in 3D cuts the frame rates in half. As it is the playstation 3 is unable to compete with top of the line computers in games like Crysis and Crysis 2 (there is a VERY big gap here, not trivial). 3. Graphics are increasing in high definition games as it is easier for programmers to write for complex lighting and much more. Your thoughts?
