I just figured out why, a moment of clarity hit me while battling 2v2 with RyanXWing on LT vsing Alura and beri0us.
I *would* post a replay but i was disconnected right when i was kicking major ass, and i heard everyone left when i was dropped anyway (Btw, if any of the observers snatched a replay, please post it).
This was my second game for months and it was 2v2 like i already said, i was Protoss and RyanXWing was Terran, beri0us was Protoss and Alura was Zerg.
It started off like any other melee, but i decided to go mass spellcasters and got my gas early. Ryan was being newb (I haert you tuna) and got too much M&M and turtled up again so i decided to stay defensive until the time was right.
All of us expoed pretty easily to our naturals and it was a rather calm game, until i instigated a battle between myself and beri0us at his second natural (The only-mineral expo), Ryan backed me up and we destroyed that minor base. But to no surprise did Alura launch a counter attack at my natural, i had about 8 or so Zealots guarding it and he launched about 4 groups of Hydras at it. I retreated my spellcasters from beri0us' expo and ran back to my natural (I had about 2 DAs and over 7 HTs). My Dragoons and Zealots lasted a while and provided excellent cover for my DAs to Maelstrom, then my HTs to cast Psi-Storm.
In less than 8 seconds of my spellcasters arriving, his full force was eliminated. That is pwnage, Protoss spellcasters own anything, especially Zerg.
Another example of Protoss kicking Zerg into the ground was when Ryan and i attacked beri0us head-on at his natural and Alura backed him up by flanking me from behind with about 3 groups of Mutalisks. What did i do? I didn't have many Dragoons and Zealots surely didn't help against air, so i Maelstromed about 60% of his Mutalisks and just casted Psi-Storm over and over, and yes, in about another 8 seconds, his entire air army was decimated.
I'm not trying to brag here, but that's damn awesome. Two spells and about 3 units destroyed an entire Zerg air assault.
The last example is MC. I MCed one of Ryan's SCVs rather early and expoed to the top left island. I then slowly built Tanks and learnt Siege and at the end, i used them against beri0us and took out most of his base.
I'm not trying to brag, but the Protoss just pwn. I love them and multi-racing in a 2v2 is easy and so damn worth it. And massing DAs is alotta fun
