Defense matrix is a sort of shield that cuts the attack of an enemy.

DM is pretty good, really. I see it mostly in my zvt games, though. They would use them on marines. On the rare occassions I see them in pvts, they're used on tanks.

If your M&Ming, D matrix your lead marine and then send the rest, works wonders :p

Yes, it does, but that's in brood war. Me and Sword Tip don't have it :(

And, well, I use DM a lot. If I go metal, I use them on my tanks or goliaths. I also often have a science vessel prepared to dm a ghost in case something goes wrong on his nuking mission.

yeah, if you nuke, use D Matrix, and it's almost impossible to kill it before the nuke goes off. Best vs. players who clump their depots together

heh, yeah right.
irradiate> dm ghost.
broodling> dm ghost(found a purpose for queens after all) Of course if zerg tries this as a reaction it prolly won't work.
feedback> dm ghost.

irradiate : you most likely won't even have a science vessel

broodling : most people dont use queens either

feedback : DA, are you kidding?

Those are all way too circumstantial.

heh, yeah right.

well, it's not like ghosts are used very often, either. so if you're gonna use an underpowered/underused unit then so can I. feedback is an excellent counter since it's available as soon as the DA is complete. oh and you'd be surprised that those units are becoming more popular nowadays even queens(zvt/zvz anyway);)

I actually use those quite often :)

All of them can be countered with EMP (of course, not easy). And feedback won't hurt if the ghost's mana is below 45.

ghosts will most likely have well over 45 mana so that's not a problem. nuking is more like a gimmick type thing.

Not really, because they'll most likely be cloaked, so it'll get down there pretty low.

If you are playing LT, you usually have obes all over the place, eventually spotting the ghost on it's way to your base.

you realize that defensive matrixed ghosts can't cloak, right? The ghost will most likely die before you reach the base if your opponent is even semi-competent. show a replay of you nuking a competent opponent then we'll discuss this further.

Doesn't matter, a competent player will have detectors such as observers, overlords or turrets all over the base. It's not easy to nuke someone.

To do it correctly, you always need a diversion, and then nuke an expansion.
