when you duel him he fights as if he is a magicarp, he uses skills such as splash, tackle, and water gun; he is a useless pokemon, also with the chance of him messing up your game if you catch him..

Wait until you get Gyrados, even though congrats you made him 6x more dmg from lightning. I still liked Blue/Red/Yellow > all.

Yes. I got it imported in 1999. I was the cool kid with the Japanese Pokemon.

Er, no, they have no attacks. They do nothing.

My lineup for Red:
Articuno (Fly, Swift, Ice Beam, Blizzard) (Perfect freezer)
Zapdos (Drill Peck, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Hyper Beam) (Ridiculous statistics with ridiculous spells)
Jolteon (Pin Missile, Double Kick, Thunderbolt, Thunder) (The versatile one in my party)
Flareon (Body Slam, Take Down, Flamethrower, Fire Blast) (Very very high Attack score means that Take Down isn't half bad)
Mewtwo (Swift, Psychic, Thunder, Recover) (Ah, what else. Thunder to take out Articuno in case it tries to freeze it)
Cloyster (Surf, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Explosion) (Don't laugh. Surf to take out fire, and Explosion to take out a weakened Mewtwo in one shot)

I also have a second Flareon with Body Slam, Hyper Beam, Flamethrower and Fire Blast, for opponents that tend to have tougher Pokémon.

I also have a Dragonite with Fly, Surf, Body Slam and Hyper Beam that acts as an alternative for Cloyster.

Yeah, I cheated.

My Silver lineup (I never completed the thing fully :()
Feraligatr (Bite, Surf, Ice Punch, Earthquake) (The most destructive thing ever to exist in my party. Four different skills to take out just about anything)
Ampharos (Strength, Thunderpunch, Fire Punch, Thunder) (Very good against water. Fire Punch allows it to injure Steel very well, with its special, and it CAN survive Earthquake)
Typhlosion (Swift, Fire Punch, Flamethrower, Thunderpunch) (Painfully powerful against anything its weakness, and Thunderpunch allows it to fight water)
Alakazam (Psybeam, Psychic, Recover, Ice Punch) (Deadly in all aspects. Ice Punch to freeze potential threats)
Dragonite (Fly, Hyper Beam, Ice Punch, Hyper Beam) (Good against its own kind and any others)
Meganium (Body Slam, Strength, Razor Leaf, Giga Drain) (Body Slam is excellent against anything it hurts)

Yeah, I cheated too.*

lets see, my yellow lineup-

Gyarados- ice beam, surf, hyper beam, bite
Nidoking- rockslide, earthquake, thunderbolt, bodyslam (yes, all TM)
Mewtwo- Psychic, Recover, Thunder, and Barrier
Machamp- Earthquake, Thunder Punch, Ice Punch, Fire Punch
Pikachu- Thunder, Thunderbolt, Flash, Swift
Charizard- Fly, Flamethrower, Fireblast, Earthquake

Yeah.. that sounds about right. I used other peoples Blue and Red to get multiple Earthquake TMs

Silver- i never really had a set party, but i used this combo a lot.

Mewtwo: Psychic, Recover, Thunder, Future Sight
Mew: Psychic, Metronome, Ancient Power, Recover
Typhlosion: Flamethrower, Earthquake, Hyper Beam, Fireblast
Lugia: Psychic, Recover, Aeroblast, Ice Beam
Gengar: Hypnosis, Dream Eater, Nightmare, Destiny Bond
Dragonite: Fly, Outrage, Hyper Beam, Waterfall

i am a sucker for Psychics.

On Sapphire, oh man.

Mewtwo: Psychic, Recover, Thunder, Future Sight
Metagross: Psychic, Earthquake, Meteor Mash, Iron Defense
Kyogre: Double Edge, Ice Beam, Thunder, Hydro Pump
Hariyama: Vital Throw, Belly Drum, Brick Break, Earthquake
Groudon: Solarbeam, Flamethrower, Earthquake, Eruption
Armaldo: Earthquake, Ancient Power, Metal Claw, Slash

I had 99 of all TMs. Yay!

Gold-
Graveler-[Rock Smash, Strength, Rock Throw, Magnitude]
Noctowl-[Fly, Foresight, Peck, Hypnosis]
Scyther-[Quick Attack, False Swipe, Wing Attack, Fury Cutter]
Gyrados-[Headbutt, Tackle, Surf, Dragon Rage]
Pikachu-[Thundershock, Thunderbolt, Double Team, Agility]
Sandslash-[Slash, Defense Curl, Dig, Cut]

Bah... never finished it. My better team was on Silver, but I lost the game somewhere (didn't finish it either, but it was a helluva lot better, plus it had the Pokemon I started out with in Gold).

Blue-
Haunter-[Dream Eater, Hypnosis, Night Shade, Mega Drain] (Hypnosis and Dream Eater kick arse.)
Charizard-[Fissure, Hyper Beam, Fire Blast, Cut] (Really screwed up with it's attacks)
Pidgeot-[Sky Attack, Fly, Wing Attack, Razor Wind]
Zapdos-[Thundershock, Drill Peck, Thunder, Agility]
Mewtwo-[Hyper Beam, Psychic, Metronome, Recover]
Alakazam-[Psybeam, Psychic, Recover, Reflect] (This one or Nidoking took up my sixth spot)

Cheated on this one.

The only ones I can remember from Silver are Feraligatr, Typhlosion, Lugia, and maybe one of the Legendary dogs.

In my opinion, move wise I would say Toxic is a lethal skill in any hands. I gave it to my Venomoth and he can easily take down many Pokemon but Poison ones. But Psybeam was invented in that case :).

I dont remember my moves too well, but in Blue I had

Blastoise, Hypno, Ninetales, Jolteon, Venomoth and Sandslash

Yeah, Toxic was the only truly reliable way to take out Mewtwo against other players. The nice thing is that Lapras has a decent Special, a ton of HP to survive Psychic and can learn Toxic. Toxic, followed by a stalling Mewtwo of your own creates chaos amongst your bench.

I've also seen people use 6 Mewtwos on their lineup (*shudders*). The person I saw had 3 Mewtwos that knew Selfdestruct (which took out any other weakened Mewtwos in one shot), and each one knew Psychic and Recover. That was the nastiest opponent I have ever faced. (I lost - I didn't cheat THAT bad!) :(

Another Pokémon I had on mind was Ninetales (Body Slam, Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Confuse Ray). Confuse Ray was a nasty spell in any respect.*

Confuse Ray hurts, especially when you get a Gengar that has it. Nothing like Mewtwo hurting itself trying to cast Psychic.

Thats why a Crobat with Bite+Kings Rock (for increased flinching), Fly (avoid rest then attack moves) Toxic and Confuse Ray is one of my favorites :)

yeah, but low overall def, hes really ****ed when it comes to super effective moves. especially a nice psychic from an Alakazam.

If you could breed them (which i did a lot on crystal) id give it crunch.

i never posted a crystal version..

well, my main one was Starmie, with Thunderbolt, Psychic, Ice Beam, and Recover. It loses only to faster/high sp.def thunder types.
