WoW is its own game, you don't need any Warcraft games to play.
There isnt really a date its going to be released although alot of people sya between Dec-March.

Yep.. WoW is it's own game and you don't need another game to buy it, but there may be future expansion packs.
As for the release date, Blizzard says near the end of this year or beginning of next year, but blizz delays most of the time.
