stop trying to be a tough guy? what? do i intimidate you with my tales of getting up to watch saturday morning cartoons?
all i'm saying is that i don't agree with the way kids are being brought up today. kids are being sheltered from a little thing i like to call life and, sometimes you get hurt. you have to learn to accept and deal with it when it happens.

as for my post on running and the bench press, 80 percent of the people my age have put on 50 lbs since high school and, they are in horrible shape. later on down the road when the mid life crisis hits and they are looking for a quick fix to get back in shape and regain their youth, it will be too late.
i decided early on that it wasn't going to happen to me.

I felt really betrayed when I left Primary School (like Elementary School, for ages 4-11). They revamped the whole place with a real playground and new huts (outside classrooms - I dunno maybe you don't have those in Yankeeland either). They rebuilt the swimming pool and made it all safe and nice - THE VERY YEAR AFTER MY CLASS LEFT! Maybe it was because we were all little Helligans at the time. My class used to make teachers cry, literally ;(

Although that could possibly have been the haggis we threw at them.

you're obviously offended by something i said and, i don't really care.
you aren't one of those choir boy, church twice a week, jesus loves me because i'm special, kind of people are you?
i believe in survival of the fittest.
if you can't stand the heat get out of the asylum.
i'm not going to change for anyone.

when you have kids, you can lock them in a padded room away from everything that can hurt them until they're 21 and then let them go into the world to get eaten alive if you want.

p.s. i don't wear a biking helmet, i drive without my seatbelt on, i walk on the wrong side of the road, and theres nothing you can do about it!!:D

okay, see, when kids get killed or horribly wounded by games, it isn't funny. or fun. it's violence, and there are serious penalties. kids shouldn't be kept in their house, away from everything, thinking that the world is perfect and there is no strife, but they shouldn't be poked routinely by pointy sticks, either.

and when it comes down to something like "ooh, i think i'll get drunk, then drive my SUV home, that is if i can, most likely i'll end up dead," then thinking about if your parents would approve is best.

oh, and why would you drive without a seatbelt on? do you just like taking risks or are you suicidal?

i agree with you, it isn't funny when kids get killed or horribly wounded but i'm not saying that kids should be given guns and knives and sent outside

children should have parental supervision
i hate people who let television raise their children
however there is such a thing as too much supervision, and this is what i'm getting at.

what happens when a parent sees their kid fall down?
the parents freak, go running over, make a big deal over it and scare the kid.
children learn to be afraid from their parents

what happens when a kid falls down when playing with their freinds and the over protective parents aren't around?
they get up dust themselves off and keep playing

what am i getting at?
because of my parents being overprotective at the beginning of my childhood i still get uneasy at the sight of my own blood.
thank god they loosened up and let me learn from my own mistakes instead of holding my hand and coddling me to death.

as for the question, am i suicidal? the answer is no

i know how overprotective parents can be, too.....my parents didn't let me get an email account. they weren't planning on my getting an email account. so, in school when we had to make email accounts, i just made an extra one. my parents wanted to protect me from the porno and stuff. like i would ever look at that crap...anyway, i only got my own email in 7th grade. that's really sad, and my parents still haven't really loosened up. like the first time they heard i was playing d2 online, they said "no way, you're not going on, and that's final. there are wolves on the internet." and for god's sake, they read my JOURNAL. argh.

okay. my tirade about my parents is over.

the way you said "badges of honor" when referring to cuts and bruises, well, it sounded kind of, i don't know, mean or something, like kids should go and punch their best friend just for the heck of it. and yet, i remember sitting in a circle and showing off scars or stories of injuries, trying to one-up everyone else. and i usually had the best.

so pretty much, i guess i sort of percieved the wrong meaning of your words........whoopsies.
