How do you own 24 carriers?

    With the zerg they usually own me. My friend told me that I should do that dark swarm thing or something? Any help on this?

    if you are up against 24 carriers i would use plague and dark swarm with hydras and scourges to finish off the job

    Use dark swarm with hydras and try to ensare the interceptors:)

    or you could just build 200 scourges that will take care of those carriers:p

    dude anything owns carriers, they suck against all units, only good for razing buildings, if u gotta defiler which are mad cheap, plage them, then wen the 300 hp runs out, finish with muta/hydra/scourge. But ive owned 24 carriers with upgraded hydra alone, jus be sure to target the carriers, not the interceptors, if u need it, use defiler spell darkswarm, and carriers wont be able to even touch them

    You obviously never played a decent carrier user, have you? These strats take more effort than you give them credit for.

    its tough as hell if they cliff. they can move, but you have to stay under dark swarm. you gotta lure them out swarm plauge as soon as you can and just keep it goin... it can be a long battle if they cliff by your base. you also have to weatch the defilers energy and you cant stop your other activities cuz of one battle... unless its 1v1

    terran got it good against carriers.. just lockdown and kill with wraiths or goliaths.

    Actually, terran suck against carriers. It's actually zerg whose got it good against them. Trust me. Most, if not all of their counters suck and can be rendered obsolete. For example, you mentioned lockdown. Arbiters can just freeze lockdowned carriers,canceling that strategy. Goliaths. Well, I would just lure them out from the safety of their tanks and slaughter them with ground units. So much for goliaths. And wraiths, only when their cloaked. The typical terran will com-sat and go for the obs and then the carriers. Com-sat runs out and so does the wraith's ability to cloak.

    Well, don't forget that Terrans have EmP and they can remove both Carriers shields and Arbiters mana, so lockdown could work.

    EMP doesn't do much to cars. Plus, it can be dodged. The missile is so slow.

    Well carriers are slow too right? EMP can't be dodged.

    just build 12-15 ghost, lockdown all the carriers and arbiters if there's any then launch a nuke.

    Mass produce scourge, and get them 24 to attack each carrier. That or get Hydra + Dark Swarm

    (And by mass produce, we're talking like get your whole army as nothing but scourge. Those things die so fast)

    There are plenty of ways to take care of Carriers, and it's even easier with Zerg.

    Assuming you don't play money maps and have an idea of how to play the game...

    The number one way to defend against Carriers is to not let your opponent get them at all. Keep him under pressure, he'll have to concentrate on defending himself so much that he won't have the money, nor the time to build Carriers.

    Thats wonderful and all, but he asked how to stopp the 24 carriers. Not how to stop them from getting them, but how to actually stop them once they are at your base.

    Carriers aren't slow. They're actually decent hit and run units.

    EMP has poor AOE(area of effect) so...........
    Most of the car's health is in the body so..............

    Oh, BTW, EMP can be dodged. Maybe not by cars, but it can be dodged. Not that it matters since EMP is RARELY used and isn't considered a counter to cars. At pro level, anyway.

    Why did you let them get 24 carriers in the first place, what do you play money maps with a 20 minutes delay?

    Devourers can be of use to slow the interceptors and do some shield damage,plague them and bring in hydras or more devourer(less eff).
    If he has some suport like scouts/sairs/arbiters things get a little more complicated but a good zerg player can handle it.
