    Kardel, The Dwarven Sniper

    by

    @Jenny

    General Info:

One of the weakest carriers defensive wise. He’s got the longest range in the game and rightly so. Once you get close he’s not hard to deal with unless he’s gotten pretty geared. He’s a fairly noob friendly hero with his far range, but if you put him in a pro’s hands he can be a farming machine and very frightening.

    Skills:

    Scatter Shot

Fires a ball full of shrapnel into the air. which promptly explodes, showering the target area in explosive pellets, each doing 10-35 physical damage in a 200 area of effect.
    Level 1 - 8 Pellets.
    Level 2 - 12 Pellets.
    Level 3 - 16 Pellets.
    Level 4 - 20 Pellets.

**A pretty useless skill. Some people get it and like it. I don’t and can live without it. You can just as easily last hit creeps then risk loosing creep kills with this bad skill.**

    Headshot

A shot to the head deals bonus damage and stuns for a short duration.
    Level 1 - 30 damage, 25% chance.
    Level 2 - 30 damage, 30% chance.
    Level 3 - 40 damage, 35% chance.
    Level 4 - 50 damage, 40% chance.

**One of if not the best passive effect on a hero. That’s a 40% chance to do 50 more damage and have a mini stun effect. Kardel is excellent at interrupting channelers. This skill more than makes up for Scatter Shot.**

    Take Aim

Passively enhances the range of Kardel's rifle.
    Level 1 - Adds 55 range.
    Level 2 - Adds 110 range.
    Level 3 - Adds 165 range.
    Level 4 - Adds 220 range.

**Another good skill and a must have for the Sniper otherwise, how else would he be sniping creeps? Exactly. He needs the range to survive, plus it puts him out of a lot of harms way, however you still have to be very careful. Having long reach doesn’t make you invincible. **

    Assassinate

Take time to draw a bead, and then deal a large amount of damage to the target at a huge range.
    Level 1 - Deals 355 damage at 1500 range.
    Level 2 - Deals 505 damage at 2000 range.
    Level 3 - Deals 655 damage at 2500 range.

**A pretty good skill. Some save this to killsteal, but honestly it’s best if it’s used at every chance. The cooldown is too long early on to do so, but at lvl 3 it’s not long at all, you can easily fire a shot as a battle begins and likely before it ends.**

    Builds

    Lvl 1: Headshot
    Lvl 2: Take Aim
    Lvl 3: Headshot
    Lvl 4: Take Aim
    Lvl 5: Headshot
    Lvl 6: Assassinate
    Lvl 7: Headshot
    Lvl 8: Take Aim
    Lvl 9: Take Aim
    Lvl 10: Stats
    Lvl 11: Assassinate
    Lvl 12-15: Stats
    Lvl 16: Assassinate
    Lvl 17+: Stats/Scattershot

A build that’s not very micro intensive with not having any castable skills other than Assassinate when you get it. Just your two passives which is more than enough. Your goal is to focus on last hitting and staying alive, firing off assassinate whenever you can. If you get farmed then the rest is pie. As for Scatter Shot, honestly I wouldn’t even get this until you run out of stats around Lvl 22. Scatter Shot is just useless and stats are much more better in the long run.

    Item Builds

    1. Boots of Travel
    2. Stygian Desolator
    3. Butterfly
    4. Maelstrom/Mjolnir
    5. Hyperstone/Assault Cuirass

Travels for some form of escape mechanism, though Dagger would be better if you’re well farmed. Stygian Desolator is just an excellent damage item and it doesn’t affect your Headshot like MKB. Butterfly is self-explanitory with the great evasion and attack speed. Mjolnir is really the only damage item left worth getting on Sniper other than Burize.
