Whats the best way to stop a 6 zergling rush as zerg? (other than your own 6 zergling :p) This is something i have trouble with a lot...

If im not mistaken, usually the 6 zergling rush would go something like:
build worker (5 total)
4 workers to mine
build worker (6 total)
wait for 200 min and then build spawn (4 workers)
when spawn is done, build 3 eggs of zerglings and send them off....
(or could build an additional worker before the spawning pool)

My usual build order is:
Worker (5 total)
4 workers mining
worker (6 total)
worker (7 total)
worker (8 total)
worker (9 total)
overlord
while building lord, do extractor trick and make another drone (10/9)
when overlord done: worker
spawning pool

(depending who my opponent is, i may build 2-3 creep colony while spawning pool is building for defence against early zealot)
-- replace drones lost while building creep colony
-- upgrade to sunken once spawning pool is done

then continue with various strats

It should probably be mentioned... my micro skills are pretty suck :p
I go for macro, and use the time I save to concentrate on my economy and upgrade and expand more.

well...
i must say...in terms of rush youre screwed
any competent rusher could get a few zealots before you got your creep colonies ready
and you get way too many workers
what i say is
when you reach nine drones
dont make an overlord
build something
like a spawning pool
youll go much faster that way
however
you only really need eight workers

I've tried using workers... they tend to get wiped out by zerglings... :(

And in terms of not making an overlord. What would I do after making the spawning pool at 9/9? Would you say:

9/9 - spawning pool
8/9 - worker
9/9 - overlord?
once done, zerglings or sunken?

If you know you're going to be rushed by someone, a Sunken could be useful. Have it by your workers otherwise he'll run right past the Sunken. Scout first though, that way you know if you'd actually have time to complete a Sunken Colony before he reached you. If you went with Zerglings, you should have an advantage because the time when his Zerlings are coming to you, you should eba ble to rpoduce more than him, and you are able to build more Zerglings where the Zergling battle takes place. You could use workers, but Zerglings really own Drones.

i say defense first
always
it gives you time to develop and stuff
that way you can launch a much stronger offensive while they are continuously barraging you with assaults that do no dmg

okay so youre at seven workers building eight right?
then you send one of your current miners to build spawning pool
six workers is fine for the beginning game
then once that drone that was being built is made, then you send that to work and you make another now theres eight
then you send a worker to make a creep colony
make another worker now theres eight once the drone is made
send another worker to make a creep colony (beore the previous dron eis made)
by then the spawning pool should be about done
now you make the sunkens
then yo umake another worker you should be at about eight workers or so
make an overlord
keep massing up your d a bit mabe one or two more clusters of sunkens
and while you bring your d up to speed, you start developing lings and some otehr stuff
you can improvise of course but this works best for me
all really early game rushes are put off this way
and in a relatively cheap fashion
and pretty quick too :p

Just seems as though you're building a spawning pool quite early, but not actually utilizing it until later. Why not just invest in more workers a little earlier instead of the spawning pool. Then you can get more money faster and build the creep colonies at the same time as the spawning pool, then upgrade them when its done?

Ill try out both and time how long it takes to get 2 sunken colonies up and report back :-/

I completely forgot what I posted :p. Sorry. Anyway, Sunkens are early game defense. Much better than a few drones. And, it really depends on what kind of map that you're talking about. Fastest you'd be able to pull this off so much faster. BGH, same, not as fast but fast. A normal map is really what I'm basing off of. That's where you actually have time between each attack and finding enemies and stuff.

the best way to survive a 6 zergling rush is never to be attacked and by that i mean attack first... since when does defence ever win you the game? so why would you ever start with it... good offence will over run any defence eventually so why start behind... its like starting a 100 yard dash 200 yards away from the finish line... it just doesnt make sense :)

if ure going to go lings, build the pool b4 the overlord. You can build the overlord during the wait time.

Try scouting earlier with a drone and your OL. That should determine whether when you should build your own spawning pool and defend with zergling and drones. DO NOT MAKE SUNKENS. You'll put yourself behind that way.
