both the revamp choices, and something else, that being "better" members. By better I mean some people that spam retardation throughout some of the general forums.

Have a better look and feel like new/better skins = Not so much new skins, but more better looking skins. Right now the only skin that really doenst suck was Skuzzy's original. It doens't hurt the eyes, but isn't overly dark and gay like SCghost. It is practical.

Go beyond Blizzard games = At this point, There is no point. If you wish to go the extra mile you can get and attract new users, but that is harder to do. You have to understand alot about what people come to forums for.

Fix the screwed up archives = I'm going to assume if it's "screwed" up then we should fix it.

Do a forum revamp = Sounds good.

Do a staff revamp= Sounds good. To often do mods and staff lose thier purpose. It isn't to create a forum they want, it isn't to enforce what they believe they should enforce. To often are mods to eager to become a mod, that thier purpose becomes diluted with ideas different from those that real moderators should have.

Have more affiliates= Affiliates are always good. But you won't find good affiliates with hacks on BF.

Nothing. It's screwed up and cannot be fixed=not entirely true.

Something else = Standardization definately. It is stupid to have one mod run things one way, and another run things differently. To many forums with the "special rules". There is a loss of justice when everyforum has special rules, there is no standardization so no one knows how to act properly anywhere since it changes with every click.

You guys HAVE to go beyond some old games that have been played so many times over, Get some popular games in here.. BF2 for 1 and many other new hits.

Ive noticed alot of members stop posting really it gets old when there is nothing new.

I agree. BF is based on games that are not popular any more.

Make moderators have controls of every forum. Not specific forums. Make me one.

I think newer games that people love and want, feueld by programs to enhance those games experience wise for the gamer are what attract people to our gaming forums. That, needed info, and a good membership structure to discuss things with is also helpful. :)

That's what could make BF Better IMO. :D

If you consider BattleForum’s situation sensibly; going beyond blizzard-based games (and to new creative genres) would be a sure start at a more enjoyable forum environment (the game(s) choice, however, would be important). Nothing comes to home truer than "BF is based on games that are not popular any more."
Any forum which essentially helps its users with problems they are having; problems which are related to what they are interested in – be it game-wise or socially-correlated – and discusses topics that they are interested in would inevitably have a lot of traffic.
A staff/forum revamp (or refurbish?) could be smart too; however I don’t know what it’d involve exactly and if it’d be addressing the main problem. Anything but deleting BattleForum’s users could possibly work.

From what I have observed in past ‘life cycles’ of BattleForums is that people turn up to BF for their (usually brief) interest in a preferred blizzard game; after awhile they curiously begin posting in the ‘Battleforums.com’ section(s) – eventually leaving after their perceptible boredom of off-topic chat and flames which can be, unaided by strong game-related sections, tiresome and tedious.
If the chat is interesting again, more diverse users will turn up at the door step. If you have interesting game-related sections, there should seldom be a dull moment. Remember, forums are based on people talking about what they're intrested in, if you lose that, you end up with something similar to what BF was not, but is now. Just think about it :)

'Battle' (as in battle forums :p) does not affiliate you to blizzard games - BattleForums is free to expand and conquer if you are willing to put the work involved to do so ;)

P.S. more affiliates would be great

There is plenty the Administration can do, but in effect, it doesn't do much. What's important are the members.

Anyway, there should be no new skins. Destroy the default skins that we have now, with the exception of the new Anniversary skins, and temporarily BattleF. Until a 56k one comes out. Remove the overriding for the Blizzard sections for the old skins (to let users choose). Make the default skin one of the new skins, but perhaps chosen at random. I'll help with a script if necessary.

Expanding beyond Blizzard games is a venture that starts BattleForums up when it started. When BattleForums started, it was a newcomer for Blizzard games. It will be a newcomer for other games as well. Gaming sections, driven by current traffic, is like asking a bee to eat jam instead of honey, especially when the honey already exists.

The Archives would definitely help. It would be nice if the Archives were made public and all the moderators given the ability to move threads like porn and outwar out off it voluntarily. Over time, this would increase our spidered threads. We could also write a PHP script to redirect the old threads to a new version, if applicable.

A forum revamp is waiting, like a missile preparing for launch. It is desparately needed. Look at The Asylum, for one thing.

A Staff revamp is needed, but considering the flawed perspective of the Staff already, it looks difficult.

Affiliates aren't going to do much, unless we affiliate with, say, GameFAQs. Which is unlikely.

BattleForums IS savable.*

You must have a dark screen, scghost is fine. I agree with x42bn6 for the most part.
I think a lot of good members originally came here for hacks (I came here myself looking for a wc3 bot). Just think about it.

We need to expand to have a bigger gamming forum by compressing Wc Sc and D2 into things like what we did with counter strike and add more games with global mods. I know for a fact even though i moderate WC3 i dont play any more. Hell all i play is Cs:S. So yes we do need to expand. Also more affilates would help increase traffic as well,

Maybe if we expanded into more games orsome more discusion like Anime where mike suggested in chit chat. Im willing to bet if peopel come here with no gaming interest they might gain some with the active posts in the game forusm we have.

Btw whats revamp??
